The best sushi we’ve had in South-East Queensland! We always make sure to stop by when we’re down the coast. Friendly staff, cheap prices and good food. Couldn’t ask for more.
I’m a relatively new sushi fan but now that I’ve tried other fabulous sushi places, I felt a bit let down by this one. (I’ve visited a few times before reviewing).I’m not entirely sure what the difference is, but here are some observations. The whole preparation area is on display and it doesn’t look like a slick, well-oiled engine room like in other sushi restaurants/outlets. There is clutter on display around the shop, hhm, yes, it feels like a shop, not a restaurant. Our sushi choices were enjoyable enough but not a patch on Hero or Sushi Train at Benowa. The deep fried options we ordered seemed straight out of a supermarket freezer.
Very very disappointing, the place is overstaffed, the restaurant doesn’t even have proper trained chefs that know how to make proper sushi, they have different names for sushis to sound fancy but in reality the combinations of the foods absolutely do not go together, (not being racist) but usually in these asian foreign cuisines you expect Japanese/Asian workers in these typically type of restaurants whereas in Eddie’s Crazy Fish Sushi Bar you have all sorts of cultures. The conveyer belt was undeniably atrocious as it had rice, dirt, grease etc on it. the restaurant had a display shelf with dessert tags in it, but there was no desserts on display?? such a disappointment that this business is completely unorganised.
Ordered here, food was very average. Got a chicken teriyaki donburi. Chicken had gross hard pieces all through it and was VERY off putting. Crab salad was tiny and didn’t taste very fresh at all.
Been coming here for years! Always fantastic service, staff are lovely and food is just beautiful! Definitely my favourite sushi bar on the coast!
