Two of us ordered the Cherry Blossom teppanyaki set which came with wagyu steak, prawns, bug meat, scallops and fish in a bag together with chicken fried rice, vegetables, miso soup and salad. Everything tasted fresh and nice, my favourite was the fish in bag, flavours and texture great. The fried rice was tasty. The salad was fresh and dressing nice and tangy. One in the group was vegetarian and it was nice to see that they cooked her meal first before the meat to avoid cross contamination. The atmosphere was very lively, great for groups. It was a bit pricey, hence the four stars.

Situated in the Surfers Paradise Marriott, this Japanese steakhouse operates as a fun entertaining teppanyaki restaurant. We came as a small group and ended up sharing a teppanyaki with another couple and their child. I noticed mostly large groups having a whole teppanyaki for themselves. It’s a really enjoyable watching the theatre of your meal being cooked. It keeps the kids and adults totally involved in an upbeat atmosphere. We visited on a Wednesday where they offer a ‘Why Cook Wednesday’ menu for a special of $45 per person. It excellent value as it included miso soup, misono salad, hibachi vegetables, and steam rice. There is a choice between ‘Bonsai’ which had fillet steak, chicken, and salmon or ‘Samurai which had fillet steak, chicken, and scallops. Our group split in the middle for the options. You could also upgrade your steam rice to hibachi chicken rice for $8.50 pp and it’s totally worth it! The other optional extra was a prawn appetizer for $3 pp but we didn’t take it but the other couple on the table did. The chef cooking for us was entertaining. He certainly made us work for some of our food including the egg omelette made for the rice as well as some meat. The food itself is really good quality and was surprised at the quantity you get for the price you paid. I especially enjoyed the fillet steak in teriyaki sauce and hibachi chicken rice. Finished off with a Banana Tempura. The serving was large so struggled to finish it off after such a large meal but I managed to. I loved the crisp batter on the outside and the soft banana in the middle. Served with a scoop of macadamia ice cream and choice of sauce (I chose caramel), it was a decadent way to end my meal. The concept of teppanyaki would be a popular choice for a large group of friends or family. Don’t be put off if coming in as a smaller group as still heaps of joy to be had.

This restaurant could have gotten 5 stars the food was excellent and it was entertaining as well definitely worth the money only thing we felt deceived and the price it didn’t include gst apparently only was shown on the bill at the end

Hadn’t been here in years but gave it a go because we love teppanyaki. The food was of extremely high quality and everything tasted great. My only thing was that one person on our table was given normal steak when they ordered wagyu and the wagyu was given to someone else before it was realised. Wasn’t a big deal though, we all enjoyed the food, drinks and entertainment

We had a group of 6 people and we were all very disappointed in misono, firstly you have to order set menus you cant order a la carte, secondly dont go their with a young child as the music is too loud it’s more like a night club. Thirdly the quality of the food is very low, the special fried rice that cost an extra $9 each is tasteless, the so called wagyu has no marbling and the lobster was way over cooked. The amount of food they serve is way to much, for the price we payed I would much rather a small amount of quality high grade produce cooked well. Going to misono ruined a special occasion I would never recommend misono to anyone and would never go back. Biggest waste of $650 in my life.
