I have given this rating only because you can go no lower. My wife and daughter ordered the Roast Beef from the Saturday Dinner Menu. The food was disgusting with the meat fatty, the gravy cold and lumpy with an oil coating on top, the vegetables were cold to the point that butter placed on top for flavour did not melt at all. Other patrons that orderedthe Saturday night special of Chicken Schnitzel appeared to have trouble cutting the schnitzel and were using steak knives to cut them. The counter service was poor to the point of indifference to the customer.
Absolutely Terrible.. Great start, Met at the door by a drunk yob, with smart comments about the clothes we were wearing.Service was poor and food below average for the money they are asking for.Much better options around the area.
Above expectations…perfect for the whole family. We recently had dinner at the Taigum Tavern, I was a bit sceptical about going having read previous reviews but decided to go anyway. I had family visiting and it was close to home. We all ordered something different off the menu including; chicken schnitzel, lamb shanks, chicken burger and ribs. When the food arrived (all at once) it was of very generous servings, great price and the service was with a smile. We will be back for sure.
Taigum Tavern eat there if you have all day to wait?. I decided to take my wife and 5yr old son out to lunch, but wanted to go somewhere local and supposedly easy. Well walked in there at about 1pm and sat down to look at menu.Took about 5 mins to actually order due to slow service, However this is when the issues started. Noted the time of 1.13pm at time of order. We ordered was a snitzel, a M/R Rump steak and chips, and a kids nuggets and chips. All simple stuff. We estimated it should 15 to 20 mins at the most. All other diners except one table of 2 were already eating meals already, so no expectation to wait very long. at 1.40pm (27mins later) still no meals or kids meal. All The other diners had recieved their meals and most of the bistro was now empty. I approached the counter to enquire how much longer the meals were going to be. No one was there to ask etc, waited about 5 mins and still no one, (in iterim an older couple said you may be waiting a while for my food as they had just waited 45 mins for theirs) decided to walk into pokie room and asked lady there as to who I can speak to for service? she walked into kitchen and asked waitress to serve. This annoyed me as the Chef saw me waiting and said nothing to her. I asked what the hold up was for our food and she said they would only be 10 more mins. I asked for the kids meal to come straight away, I also pointed out that there were no other customers waiting on food currently so should be quicker than that. at 1.57pm I then got up to find out more again…she saw me coming and bolted into kitchen. when she came out she asked if I wanted anything??? She then enquired as to how much longer with the Chef and said another 10 to 15mins!!!! She blamed everyone else except taking responsibility for it.Told them to shove their food and got a refund. At the point of walking out we had been in the restauant from ordering for 50 mins and still had 10 more minutes to wait for a meal that should have taken 20 mins at the most if it was busy.
We have been going there for the last 19 yrs and we are Disgusted as We were first in for lunch today 23/09/12 and there was no Sunday roast on offer and when we ordered grilled fish and chips for three we were told there was only one available. Who’s running this place ????In all the times we’ve dined here we have had about ten enjoyable dining experiences in 19 yrs its time that the standards are raised at this place as I am definitely going to look elsewhere in future as this is not acceptable
When we arrived at the restaurant there was a line up of 2 people in front of us and 3 seated tables. First impression was that this seemed to equal busy and the staff appeared quite stressed out. We were told on ordering our food that it would take half an hour and that was fine. Over an hour later after all other tables had eaten we finally got our food. I ordered the Caesar salad – the plate was huge and full. The cos lettuce was whole and quartered on the plate and the bacon was also in whole pieces (as the plate was full / already overflowing) i had nowhere to cut the food into edible pieces without my food spilling onto the table. Apart from the presentation and hard to eat factor my meal did taste pretty good. My husband had the veal which came deep fried so was pretty dry.
The worst food I have had. They advertise their parmigiana as the best is Australia. It is definitely not.
