I’ll start by pointing out the reason for the 1 star rating. It’s easily the most overpriced cafe in Brisbane (all things being equal). I ordered Asparagus bruschetta (17.00) and the BK Burger (with extras 22.00). Out came the bruschetta with 1 piece of sliced sour dough three sprigs of asparagus, two dollops of buffalo cheese, some olive tapenade and that was it. The BK burger, effectively a cheese burger and I ordered bacon…..5.00 for a slice of bacon…..REALLY??? What was most embarrassing for this place is that they tried to overcharge me….6.00 for a slice of bacon until I pointed to the menu which states 5.00. 5.10 for a double shot soy flat white was the icing on the cake for me. I often marvel at how ridiculous the cost of food is in Brisbane. As an ex Sydneysider, it’s easy to see why Brisbane has such immature cafe culture. It’s so damn over priced! Now, I have nothing against the quality of the food, the flavours were OK and the service was good.

I had heard murmurings of a busy little venue in the heart of the burbs run by a well renowned chef well known for his work with Jamie Oliver and time on screen alongside Curtis Stone. Ben Odonoghue, Surfing the menu star, now owner operates BillyKart Kitchen in Annerlery/Moorooka. You will find him in the kitchen preparing delicious dishes consistently. The venue produces a high standard of service and and an ever changing menu according to the season and produce available. All culminating in a very very good dining experience for a reasonable price. Food was excellent, flavorful and left me full to the brim. Couldnt find a highlight as both dishes were as enjoyable as the other. Must come back to continue to explore the other dishes. Will bring the doggos next time too!

Best cafe I visited while in Brisbane. Great layout, friendly staff, didn’t have to wait long for a table and food was delcious to say the least. Corn fritters were the best I’ve had to date! Definitely worth checking out this cool spot if you’re in the area!

Billy Kart Kitchen. After all this time I , finally found an opportunity to dine in at this great cafe restaurant owned and run by a great Aussie Chef icon Ben O’Donoghue and his lovely partner De-arne ( Dee for short). Spoke to both Ben and Dee, and both down to earth and passionate about great food, health and service. The decor is sleek and stylish without being over the top and the layout is very functional. This cafe restaurant seats 80 people comfortably. I was starving on arrival so I ordered the Avocado with various toasted seeds, pepita hummus on grilled sprouted GF bread which was delicious. As I had much work to do , I ended up staying for lunch so I ordered the roast Vegestable salad with pine nuts, smoked eggplant and tahini which was tasty, textual and perfectly balanced in flavour and harmony. I will most definitely be back. Second visit. Ordered the corn fritters which have been very popular and been consistently on the menu since Billy Kart kitchen opened 5 years ago. They were crispy on the out side soft and fluffy on the inside and we’re delicious. For my main dish I ordered the roast vegetable salad and again, it exceeded my expectations on all levels, as did the service. Thanks very much. SARDS.

Came here for group lunch of 12 people based on a friend’s recommendation. Coffee was nice but food are averages, we ordered burgers, duck, squid ink pasta, lambs, and everyone made same comments… foods are average and little pricey. Cafe was nice and cozy tho.
