Great food… More traditional Japanese options compared to another Teneriffe/Newstead restaurant. Range of got and cold sake means there is a variety for every palate. Sushi, shashimi and gyoza was all fresh using obviously quality ingredients. Outside seating a little dark and a little cramped inside so loses a little in ambience but food more than makes up for these shortcomings. Definitely to return.
With a real lack of good Japanese food in the new farm area, we were both surprised we hadnt given this place a go yet when we came for dinner on Saturday night. We were seated outside on the street as we requested. The only downside was that the tables outside are really close to each other and I could have easily shook hands with the guy next to us without moving.I ordered the sake tasting board and hubby had a beer. The four sakes were so varied in taste it was interesting to compare them. We ordered gyoza, tempura vegetables and the medium sashimi plate and chicken karage. The gyoza were cooked to perfection. The tempura veg had a light and crispy batter and there was lots of variety with the veg. The sashimi was delightful, especially the tuna. The chicken karage was ok. There wasnt anything bad about it but it didnt blow me away. We will be back for lunch soon to check out their incredible looking bento boxes!Service 10/10Food 8/10Ambience 8/10
Some of the best Japanese food in Brisbane! Dined with family and I would highly recommend the crab and soba salad, as well as the mizupaccio and nasu dengaku if you would like something a little bit different. The Tasmanian roll sushi and sashimi were absolutely delicious, and the Ebi Kushi age was tasty as well.
Our go-to restaurant for family celebratory dinners. It was ample outdoor and indoor seating. There is a wide selection of sushi, tapas, salads, mains and sashimi. Its reasonably priced.
Great sushi, super fresh, well presented and delicious flavour. The karage chicken was amazinggg. A must try if you’re visiting Teneriffe area.
Just not worth the money. My vegetable tempura included a large chunk of onion as one of the pieces. Seriously – for $16 for 5 pieces I don’t expect to get onion!
Poor customer service. We made a booking and was told that we didn’t. Short haired waitress was rude and left my partner and I standing unattended even though there were plenty of seats available. We were seated outside where there was no ambience and had to wave the waitress down to order. Food was fresh and enjoyable but definitely no value for money. Would rather go to Sake, Sono at these prices – or Oishii Sunnybank – never, ever a let down for Japanese cuisine.
