The staff were very welcoming and polite. Phat Pho has a great family vibe to its team.We ordered the tofu rice paper rolls for an appetiser, which were light and flavoursome. The accompanying sauce was delicious and balanced the dish.We then ordered a vegan noodle salad, and a chicken noodle salad for mains. There was a little too much noodle to vegetable ratio, but the bowls were delicious and there was a generous serving of protein on both.Overall we loved it, and cant wait to go back again!
Rating: 3.5Went here for lunch with friends on a cool, windy weekend day. Menus available on the tables – order at the counter when ready. We ordered bowls of pho and the vegan bowl. The pho was reasonable – some flavours, not too salty nor sweet, however the broth lacked depth and there was not enough protein (to noodle ratio). The vegan bowl was average – the broth was light on advertised spiciness and there was an odd assortment of vegetables (rather than expected Asian selection). The bowls came out with side accompaniments of beansprouts, Vietnamese mint, lemon and fresh chillies. There is a self-serve side table with hoisin sauce, sriracha sauce and water glasses available.Service is efficient – our meals came out within 10-15 minutes. Casual ambience. Prices are a bit on the high end for noodle soups, however not surprising for the location.Overall, a reasonable albeit average Vietnamese restaurant for pho.
I give this place a 3. The food was pretty good and the price reasonable but why charge $4 per person corkage. Your not even licensed. We paid $12 corkage for you to do nothing except failing to get a liquor license in the first place. If you provided wine as an option and we choose to drink our then I don’t have a problem. Anyway keep in mind that this is a local hangout and dont arrive expecting to be greeted at the door and escorted to your table Order at the counter and help yourself to cutlery and plates because whilst the staff are friendly you do have to fend for yourself which is fine because that the style of place this is.
