What a pretty setting this cafe commands overlooking a quiet reach of the Brisbane river. I have dined here before when it was under different management & always enjoyed it, however this experience was top marks all round for us. The coffee (apart from a small spill in saucer) was very good with perfect strength & balance of flavor. The standout dish of the day for me was the cauliflower tree. Simple though it was everything just married together forming a pretty picture on the plate. Cauliflower was cooked perfectly & even the egg sitting precariously on top of the tree was done well

Such a pretty and peaceful riverside location. Service was also very polite. Our food was delicious and beautiful too. We got the steak sandwich and pancakes for the kids which was hugh. I loved the variety of options for the kids menu. My son absolutley loved his sandwich to a point that he even ate the rocket that came with his sandwich. Brilliant. We got the Maple bacon & cheese burger and Lamb Shoulder. They were so beautifully presented. The lamb shoulder was amazing. I loved every single thing on that dish. Quinoa tabouli tick, Rosemary kipfler tick, Eggplant chips and Chermoula tick tick. They also make really yummy milkshakes. Too yummy infact that the kids wanted more. Thank you River La Vie. Me and my family had a lovely brunch.

River La Vie stands out as one of the most picturesque, charming and attractive brunch spots in Brisbane that no one knows about. Cafes are a dime a dozen lately however, this little secret venue hidden away amongst its gorgeous setting is my perfect place to spend a quiet Sunday morning catching up with family or if Im lucky.. the Sunday mail. I come for the view, but I stay for the food. My favorite dish is the Sloppy joe. Delightfully flavorful, savory mince topped with two perfectly fried eggs generously piled on top of warm sourdough. Pair this with a healthy, green juice for the perfectly refreshing breakfast that wont leave you feeling bloated. If youre feeling indulgent, try the iced coffee on a warm summers day and make sure to add extra ice cream. You wont regret it!(Although I cant speak for your waistline)I recommend this spot because the staff do a great job and deserve to do well. Although selfishly, I hope that not too many find out about and ruin my secluded, secret, Sunday getaway. Highly recommend, just please dont all come at once!

River La Vie is under new management with new Chef Rocky from the highly rated Spring Hill Deli Cafe and a new exciting Menu. We are invited to lunch here and on arrival we are greeted by Manager/Barista Dean. We decide on a table with views of the landscaped gardens and Brisbane River. What a great location! Our lunch order is taken and before long our refreshments arrive. Our fresh juices, Mr Pink, Mr Orange and Mango Smoothie look great and are refreshing. Our nicely presented meals are served within 15 minutes. * Maple Bacon Cheeseburger ($21) comes with a lean Beef Pattie, Gherkin, Grilled Zucchini Gouda Cheese and Beer Battered Chips. Phuong Tran likes this lean Beef Burger, especially the Bacon and sweet Gherkin. * Cauliflower Tree ($16.50) is a vegetarian meal served with Smoked Pumpkin, Charred Zucchini, Roasted Potatoes and Fried Egg. The seasoning includes a mixture of sweet paprika, coriander seeds and cumin. Gaik Kee Khoo opts out of the fried egg replacing it with a serve of Beer Battered Chips ($4) and she finishes this interesting meal with a smile!* Rustic Steak Sandwich ($21) comes with a 150g Rib Fillet, Beetroot Relish, Mushrooms, Sourdough and Beer Battered Chips. I like the thick rib fillet and this is the best Steak Sandwich I have had for some time. We finish our lunch with a Cappuccino and Cafe Latte. The coffees are served are strong and full flavoured, the way we like it! Manager Dean is run off his feet and yet he makes time to check on every table. Service is friendly and helpful with a smile. Our meals are freshly prepared and prices are reasonable. This tranquil location is a gem and my overall rating is 4.5/5.0! Thank you River La Vie!
