Cafe Tara is a gem of a find! From the moment we walked inside we were greeted by the friendly and attentive owner and shown to our seats. We were surprised at the relatively low costs on the menu and certainly weren’t expecting the excellent quantity of food that we were served. The food was homemade and just delicious. Merlo’s coffee, when delivered hot and properly made, is always a treat and the barista at CafeTara certainly knows how to deliver. The cafe is spacious, the seating comfortable and the welcome exceptional. There is even an outdoor play area for the little ones!
Great little cafe. Have been here multiple times and the service is always friendly, the food is delicious (especially the waffles!) and the coffee is nice each time. Have yet to find anything to gripe about with this one, I will keep coming back again and again.EDIT: That was 2 months ago and I gave it 5 stars back then. I went back this morning and have something more to say. The coffee is still wonderful, however our meals were a little disappointing. The Belgian waffles used to be my partner’s favourite…they also used to be plural. It was a substantially smaller meal this time around and while it looked gorgeous and the quality of ingredients, had not changed, it was disheartening to see that tiny waffle no bigger than his hand on that plate. I ordered a classic eggs benny, which is usually awesome at Cafe Tara, however this time the toast was soggy with water from the poached eggs and the whole meal was drowning in hollandaise; I almost couldn’t finish it from how salty and sour the whole thing tasted. I’m not sure why these changes were made to the menu, I do know that the place was better before them.
We got there for a late breakfast. The guys who served us had zero personality and had to come back to check out order. Food was good but not great. Sat listening to trucks going past on moggilll road. Probably won’t go back
