Being new to the area we went into Zegattos on a Saturday night as they advertise gluten free options and the sign says ‘modern aussie cuisine’. My friend and I bought a bottle of wine with a view to having dinner on the balcony overlooking the golf course. We were really surprised to discover that there was not one vegetarian option on the menu and that the staff weren’t really interested in catering for us. With the greatest respect this is not modern aussie cuisine. In this catchment area, people want salads and fresh food and none was available to us. My friend and I both work in aviation, she is in a customer service role while I am in catering so we both understand the issues, however, we ended up having to return our bottle of wine and go elsewhere to be fed The other issue that needs addressing is the cigarette smoke that wafts onto the beautiful verandah. The trend is toward lighter meals; this place is a diamond just waiting to be discovered and we hope that we get the chance to try it again.
