Went to the tavern today 14/7/18 and ordered 2 meals one for the wife and one for myself, a seniors meal and a schnitzel burger. The wife’s came out but not mine and when I queried it the girl came out and said I hadn’t ordered a meal for myself, I wasnt going to argue the point knowing I had clearly told the girl at the register of what I wanted and when I pointed out the cost of the seniors meal she said it was $13 contradicting the sign at the front $9.50 7 days. She asked whether I wanted to order and I said that I already had but apparently its not coming. Left and spoke to Ben the DM who told me I should have called him out and advised me the price I believed what was advertised was the correct price so I have 2 different prices, not a big deal but with this and the missing meal it forced me to leave the tavern earlier than expected and go elsewhere.

The service was great. The staff were attentive and friendly and all very accommodating. A massive pity about the food. I was not expecting something amazing just something comparable to other Taverns around Australia. Unfortunately it didn’t come close. The entree of calamari and duck spring rolls was fine, typical deep fried food with a sad garnish that looked a few days old and could have used even a hint of dressing. I ordered a bunch of sides as my main as I was off meat. I was charged $5 for 2 tablespoons of mash and another $5 for 1 piece of broccoli a few half slices of carrot and an inch of corn on the cob. The vegetables were dry and over cooked and could have been much better with some garlic butter or olive oil. The mushroom sauce was nice if somewhat to salty and a little aged.My husband’s steak was nice but a cheap cut of fillet. His mash and veg were the same as mine so pretty poor for $32 when you can spend the same elsewhere and get flavoursome sides and a better cut.I was so hungry I order a Caesar salad as well. It was fine, the lettuce was a little aged but crunchy, the croutons were fresh and the portion size decent. Unfortunately the dressing was such a mix of salt and sugar it was hard to enjoy the dish as a whole.I would like to stress again that the service was great and the chefs were really accommodating with menu changes but the food was so far below average that I wouldn’t go back again. It is very easy to make small changes that don’t add a lot of a cost to a dish but make enough of a difference to a meal.
