I loved this little restaurant. The customer service was soo lovely. They gave great suggestions for my kids. Love love how fresh their noodles are. Also loved how thick it was too. It’s also conveniently located right across the shopping centre so very easy to get to. The sichuan dandan noodles was a winner for me.
This place certainly took me back to Hong Kong with all the small noodle shops in the Wan Chai District! What great placement in Toowong for all the uni students and non uni students, to enjoy this reasonably cheap meal option. After reading Joe K review and having walked passed too many times to remember, hubby and my favourite daughter decided to get some noodles to take away. You know its good when all the tables are full with Asian customers and you have to take away anyway. We ordered No.3 Sichuan DanDan Noodle with the thick noodle (Dry), No.1 Beef with Yellow Curry Soup (Thick Noodle) & No 6. Old Beijing Style Soy Bean Paste Noodle (thin noodle).Word of warning this place is Cash Only!It was fantastic to watch them stretch and cut the thick noodle to order behind the counter. The beef Yellow Curry Soup was very hard to eat as the thick noodle was hard to get a good hold of in the liquid. But that could show the sign of a good silken noodle, right? The thick noodle had a lovely chewy texture and was nicely coated with the sauces. We all felt the dishes did need more seasoning so we added extra soy to enhance the flavours more. The stand out dish to me was the Old Beijing Style Bean Paste with the thin noodle. So tasty and the thin noodles were awesome too.Next time I hope we can secure a table and enjoy the noodles in bustling Sherwood Road.
Third time lucky and I manage to get a table today at 1.30pm after the lunchtime rush. Reviewers seem to fancy No.3 on the menu so I hand over $11.50 and take a seat. I watch the Chef roll out my noodles from the pre-kneaded dough. A short wait and my medium heat Sichuan Dan Dan Noodles arrive on the table. These noodles are soo wide and I love the chewy texture. I see chilli oil, mince pork and half a hard boiled egg! The seasoning is not overpowering and I enjoy this chewy lunch. I will return for No.7, the Cumin Lamb Noodle.
