Worst coffee. I have had much better coffee from 7-11

Terrible. Went to this cafe with my wife last Sunday. Tables were dirty and shaky. I ordered eggs Benedict and my wife a fritter with poached eggs. All the eggs were rock-hard, the mushrooms soggy and tasteless, the tomatoes very acid. Bread was terrible as well. Paid $40 for one of the worst breakfasts I had in my life.

Forages: Good name as it took For Ages for my coffee and tart!. 20 minutes for a coffee and a tart! Yes it was busy, but the inefficiencies of the staff were shocking. This place is not well run, lacks customer service and the coffee is only passible. What Forages needs is some competition. My partner and I arrived on a Saturday, mid-morning and the caf was quite hopping! We looked at all of the items behind the glass, made our decision and got in line to order. The gentleman we spoke to was not overly friendly or welcoming so we ordered a small rice salad ($5.95), a salted caramel peanut tart ($5.95) and a flat white in a mug ($4.30) then paid, took our number and waited for our stuff to come out.During this time we noticed a lot of the staff bringing out meals and walking around aimlessly trying to figure out where they belonged. This happened on numerous occasions and Im so glad I hadnt ordered a hot dish as it would have cold by the time they found me. My partner and I agreed that it would be better if the order numbers were on taller sticks as obviously the staff could not find them past peoples shoulders on the short holder they were currently on.10 minutes after we ordered, my partners rice salad appeared. Thinking that mine would be hot on its tail, I sat back and waited…. and waited…. and waited. I told my partner to go ahead and start but my partner wanted to wait as oddly enough we had come here together and wanted to eat at the same time. My partner joked that I shouldnt have ordered something so complicated like the coffee and the dessert! After an uncomfortable amount of time, my partner went in to ask where mine was and was told they were a bit behind. It might have been nice if one of the wandering staff could have told us that on one of their many passings of trying to find where the dish they were holding had to go. Another thing that was quite annoying was that the rice salad and caramel tart were located in the same glass case. If the coffee was the hold up, then why didnt they just wait until the coffee was ready and bring out everything together? That is inexcusably disorganized. Finally my order showed up, 20 minutes later and not even an apology or heck, even a smile. I tried the coffee, hot but only okay. Nothing spectacular. My salted caramel peanut tart on the other hand was fresh and very sinfully sweet. A nice thick layer of chocolate was on the top of the layer of caramel that had pieces of peanut in it which added a crunchy texture to the smoothness of the entire tart. I would not have known it was supposed to be salted caramel by taste, but it was still very delicious. My partners salad was quite enjoyable. It looked like saffron was in it. The corn in it added a distinct flavour while the red capsicum was fresh and crunchy. It also contained raisins thus adding a pleasant sweetness. Overall, it had a subtle complexity to it.I dont dispute the freshness of the items in the deli, but the inefficient way it was run is enough to stop me from coming back. In that this is a destination place with nothing else in the vicinity, my partner and I can easily point the car in a different direction and get better, friendlier service and better coffee elsewhere.

Diana. What a busy little Deli this is. The day we visited we were flat out getting a seat. The food looked great, but all we had time for was coffee & cake. Cake selection is brilliant ( well they do have big competition next door) Coffee was passable, only just, but that’s about it. Agree with the previous reviewer they need more passion coffeewise

Oh so much potential if only…. The food is good, the cakes are good, the little deli section is good, the service is not bad…but the coffee! oh lordy lordy, it consistantly disappoints. 🙁 Please please get a good Barista, someone who is passionate about their espresso and then this place could and probably would rock!

Friendly staff and awesome food. Gets pretty busy on a Saturday/Sunday but well worth the wait. Highly recommended.
