Great original sushi restaurant here for decades. Great family run business and it shows. Teriyaki chicken salad a standout. Lovely aburi. Lots of Japanese eat here. Price is great and watch for specials. Ask chef what you would like and he will make it for you. The trains on the Wall are the original locos. Arigato.
A super good restaurant!!!!!Love the food!!!!! Nice staff and the chief!!!!!! This restaurant combines the Japanese culture with Asian food, like Chinese dim sum, Chinese small dishes, Vietnam roll, sushi, udon, etc…. they are doing well!
Such a good lunch place. During lunch all of their plates are 3.30 and it’s soo good! Good quality sushi with great variety. Best sushi train in Toowong
Absolutely amazing value. One of Brisbanes little hidden gems ! Seriously! I have been eating here 3 times a week lately 🙂 enjoy and thankyou Tokyo Express.
Having been coming here for years and will never go back. Portion sizes are great and the quality of the food never disappoints.
Being a regular at the formerly known ‘Sushi Station’, I was apprehensive when this place reopened their doors under a new name. The sushi is of the same high quality, however slightly smaller serves at slightly higher prices. The old train that I used to fondly watch pull the train now sits on display, replaced by a regular conveyor belt. The same wide variety is still available for order, however the train itself is now home to fewer sushi rolls, and more pieces of cake. Overall, this little shop still has its drawing points that will keep me coming back, and finally, after a few years of waiting, Eftpos is available!
Sushi fans will rejoice in Tokyo Express’ selection of rolls and sides and even though they’ve lost the old train, it has really improved on its dcor from a few years ago. The food is always tasty and fresh and well priced for the serving size. As any Japanese cuisine regular will know, soy sauce, wasabi and ginger are vital to any sushi dish and luckily Tokyo Express keeps all three in close proximity to each seat. Even thoughsome items like the dim sims and calamari rings seem a bit out of place, they apparently appeal to more simple palates that may be flagging extras in your group. Staff are sometimes a bit overworked, but always friendly and polite. Overall, Tokyo Express is one of my favourite casual sushi joints with a cheaper price range.
