When you enter the restaurant you will see two refrigerated cabinets with an array of noodles, beef, tofu, mushrooms, bok choy, wong bok, lettuce vegetables and other items. There are no instructions anywhere, just a hand scribbled note next to the cabinet with the price. The way this restaurant works is to take a large plastic bowl and fill it with ingredients from the refrigerated cabinets. The cost is $2.70/100g. Next you take your bowl to the counter and select a sauce (eg szechuan, tom yum etc and the spiciness level), pay in cash, and the chef cooks your meal. I had to do a double take as my bowl was $20 and it didnt appear to contain many items. The net weight of the bowl shows as 220g on the scale but I suspect that it is much more. The meals are served in large plastic containers. Help yourself to condiments of garlic, chilli oil, coriander, shallots, soy sauce etc. Certainly the food was tasty but I felt it was somewhat overpriced.

If only Toowong had such options when I was at uni. Life would be so much easier. Soup base was nice and spicy, real spicy and not pretend spicy. Portions are as big as you want it to be. You pay for what you select at $27/kg. To keep yourself fuller, get a bowl of rice and have it with the soup. Would give it the 5 stars if the seats were upgraded and look slightly cleaner
