Absolutely disgusting service! When you have to have a tug of war with the old guy on the till with your purchased chips because he believes you have had enough salt, you know it’s the last place on earth you will ever return to. I’m not sure what drugs the server was on, but to argue with customers over salt and getting physical is beyond belief.Food 5/10 service 1/10 decor 2/10

We’ve been loyal customers of Shelly Beach Seafoods for many years now.Our standard order of crumbed Dory fish fillets,large chips plus chicken salt,& crumbed crab balls is heaven in a box ready for a picnic lunch.The staff are very friendly,& very helpful whenever we’ve been there.We are happy to travel 2 1/2 hours drive for the best fish & chips around.

I had a beer battered coral trout with chips and it was way better than the one at maddigans. The fish fillet was big and juicy and the batter was home made , cruchy and didn’t dominate the fillet . This is definitely the best place in Hervey Bay for fish and chips
After trying maddigans with all it’s great reviews and big lineups of customers and getting a poor experience we tried Shelly and we were very pleased. Fish (crumbed cod and dory) and chips were cooked perfectly and golden. The chips were light and not fatty. After having fish and chips for lunch here we are even considering coming back for dinner as well. I would reccomend this store to anyone and I have no idea why they do not have more customers (May be location more than anything else as they are on a side street away from the main drag).
