Food serving size very small for the money as many have said previously. Rude and selfish staff, food quality okay. A place like this will not survive in the sparsity of Townsville city center unless the owners step in and train staff properly and give some value for money.

Coffee was not good. Ordered a flat white which came in a mug size, which made the coffee weak to the point of unrecognizable. Sometimes less is more. Partner’s caramel milkshake was very icey and again lacking in flavour, plus it came in a takeaway plastic cup even though we were dining in – so wasteful. Disappointing as it looked good from the outside.

This review is purely on the coffee. For it to be coffee, or called coffee, or be a drink with the name coffee in it, you would expect it would have somecoffee. Well in this place the coffee is just some warmed up milk ina cup.Extremely disappointing.

Dissapointment. Townsville is hot… very hot. When a hot & bothered customer requests water for the table, they do not want WARM water? ? How hard it is it to provide chilled water? I ordered an avocado, mango & macadamia salad.. to which I got a large bowl or rocket and other pieces of lettuce with the odd trace of avo, mango and nuts.. absolute RIP OFF for 23 bucks. Will never return, waste of money.

Really good coffee so long as it’s not so hot the milk is burnt (which has happened a few times but mostly it’s good coffee) but the food wasn’t much to rave about at all. Got the pesto eggs – not much pesto at all and the ‘poached eggs’ were completely overlooked, so so rubbery and the yolks were rock hard, when I pointed this out to the waitress was told that’s ‘how they cook them as people complained about them being runny’ (poached eggs’ yolks should be runny!!?) Also, I make paleo bread at home, and the stuff they served did not have much flavour at all and was super bland. Overall food 4/10 coffee 9/10 (when not overheated)

Now where was I.? Firstly u…. Now where was I.?Firstly upon initial contact paleo cafe had already established a name for themselves written in Stone, the menu was rock solid and the restaurant had a clean homely feel, similar to a freshly swept cave. Myself and a guest diner from another tribe, chose the cavemans big breakfast, this breakfast was excellent, the chef had done well and has obviously been cooking since prehistoric times. The relish and scrambled eggs were something tht seemed to have been mastered since the caveman days. In one word excellent. Now…. Onto the smoothies, we selected a grand total of 4 smothies because this morning the hunters had large appetites. We had the salted caramel and banna smoothie, the choc banna smoothie and the goji berry super smoothie and a Fresh orange juice. All of these drinks were of a evolutionary standard with the salted caramel banana standing out as the alpha male. The wait time was a little long( almost as long as the last ice age) however the standard of food more than made up for it and the smoothies did come out remarkably quick. The price was a little on the expensive side but in saying that the food was worth it being organic and natural. On the topic of natural and organic the waitress (which by the way any of then would of been welcome in my cave) was gobsmacked by my confusion between nitrate free and normal bacon which I found a little neanderthalish (smug) all things aside the staff (. With one brief exception as she was entirely helpful and cheery) were of a good standard, the menu was as simple to read as a cave painting and was very informative, the atmosphere was that of fitness and health the food was like the invention of fire, excellent! And the price was worth it. In conclusion a happy customer who is Definately going to frequent this simple yet evolutionary display of food. GREAT food.
