The food here is very average. They seemed confused on what cuisine to cover and the flavours are bland. The meat in the bao tasted borderline approaching expiry, the tofu has a thick batter, the roti is out of a packet, the Vietnamese salad had what tasted like olive oil and French dressing without any Viet flavours. They get one mark for stocking a decent bourbon and a decent Rye whiskey.
Hubby and I were up in townsville recently for a family wedding. we had lunch here twice, the first time deux, then with hubby’s sister. we were really pleased with the fresh and tasty food, tho the service is as usual in modern eateries, non-existent. it’s all counter service these days, sadly. I had a local lobster roll which was full of lobster, very fresh and zingy with fabulous lettuce. (and i don’t even like lettuce). Hubby had a meatball sub which he really enjoyed too. He kept on about that lettuce which we both loved. It was nice to have a change from cos or rocket. The sandwiches come as salads too if you don’t feel like the carbs. This place is in a very hip city lane, with very cool, hip servers. We loved sitting here watching the crowds go by. Sad to say the coffee is appalling! Neither SIL nor myself could drink it. SIL even went in to complain about it; they did nothing and said nothing. Not even an offer of a replacement drink. So go for the food but definitely not the coffee or service. sherryspickings.blogspot.com
For a place that specialises in meatballs, they were just OK, and a bit overpriced. Beer selection not the best. Air inside smelled of cooking oil. Nice interior design.
Great atmosphere with a little Melbourne vibe (even for a Wednesday night), great cocktails and pumpkin salad was really tasty! Fish and chips were a little ordinary but all round really good.
Great little find in the new mall lane way with a great industrial vibe & good selection of beer, wines & food. A couple of other venues in the same spot & this one is first on the left off the mall as you might miss it if not on the lookout
What a gem! Amazing industrial decor, tunes perfect. Staff friendly, food perfect for a light meal or heavier feed. Loved the vibe here. Saturday afternoon sanga just got really cool.
Best hidden bar. Found them by accident, hidden in an alleyway – what started off as a beer to kick off our Townsville weekend getaway, turned into an all night session.Great decor with steampunk/industrial – very friendly staff – delicious menu (highly recommend any meatballs & the chicken wings) – best Espresso Martinis anywhereWe’ll definitely be making the trip from Mackay more regularly
