I was recently dragged along for an excursion to the Brewery. As I approached the venue by car I began to feel weary and being the only fully sober person in the car became irritated by the company I was in. However determined to provide myself with some nutritional value I pushed on.At the entrance to the building we were greeted by security who asked us to provide photo identification. A member of our group was unable to do this but was not refused entry.I was seated in a booth where I was attended to by a waitress who seemed more excited to take my order than twelvie at a Justin Bieber concert.Members of the table threw flirtatious comments her way but she was able to maintain her professional integrity. My meal appeared in due course and I became confused due to the disproportionate size of the plate it was sitting on.After we dined the bill was able to be split which pleases me except that the bill reached me last and my company had left me to pay for more than I ordered which left me more done than a burnt steak.

Fantastic. I get to come to Townsville only a couple of times a year, but when I do I make sure I come here to the Brewery. I love it – especially between 5pm and 6pm which is happy hour – a pint of proper beer and a large pizza for less than $14 – where else can you find that outside of the Northern Hemisphere? What I like: great beer, fine pub food, nice old character building, friendly staff, good prices. What I would like to see: maybe the addition of a good old fashioned English Best Bitter to the beer range :-)Strangest thing: To see people come in and order bottles of Corona and Crown lager – WTF?!Summary: If you’re from the northern hemisphere and gasping for a pint of proper beer at UK prices this is where you need to be – forget the people who winge about their food being late or their fish being too small … get a pint of Ned’s Red down you and smile that the world is a beautiful place :-)I love you Townsville Brewery and will keep coming back at every opportunity 🙂

Been there several times while on holiday and thought it was great, this time thought it was the biggest rip off ever, $23 for fish and chips, small piece of fish and half a kilo of fries, no salad, nothing, won’t be going back!

New Burger menu is amazing. I went for big burger and it was SO big. I struggled finishing it even after a massive workout at the gym.Taste is great and it goes amazing with their home brew Belgian Blond Pilsner on tap.Have an eye on happy hours. 5 to 7 I reckon. Half price drinks and Pizza

Better class of Pub. Called in at the Brewery on a recommendation, and because we had 25% from the Entertainment book. Pleasantly surprised by the sophistication of the place. Choose to eat in the restaurant, which suffered a little by only having one waitress but she tried to make up for this by checking on all tables when she rushed by. had the paddle of taster beers (6) and also the tasting plate of 4 beers and 4 matched canaps. Interesting selection and very enjoyable. Followed this up with a lamb shank and mash while my hubby had the thai beef salad. The shank was perfectly cooked and very satisfying, sadly the salad was a little too subtle on the thai flavours to accompany either Beer or the red we had. However, the food was well presented and far above most pub style food – the menu was wide and the wine list good for a Brewery offering its own wares.

Went for lunch, tried the fish burger, which sounded nice, apparently coming with a mango relish or something like that. Fish was okay to good, generic fish and chip shop stuff with an oily batter but the actual fish was nice, measly amount of lettuce and the relish was fairly non existent. Bread was boring. Chips were good. Pricing average. Not so terrible I put my fork down and walked out, but in no hurry to go back.

Great in house beers. Fantastic cheap lunch specials for a tenner including a schooner! The service is fast, friendly and the girls know their beers. Only hiccup is the broken urinals, watch ya step fellas. Don’t think it’s getting fixed anytime soon.
