The place looks great after the new renovations however ordering took forever in the restaurant! Only one lady at the counter and I stood in line for almost 10 mins.
The place looks great !! The cafe has newly been renovated and looks smart. Fresh rolls , sandwiches , salads cakes and other goodies fill the new display fridge , close to where you order. We go every week and the food is always above expectations. Since opening the new cafe area they also opened with a new menu which is filled with popular and classic meals as well as a build your own sandwich option. Over the past 6 months I usually go for the spinach & ricotta lasagna with chips and salad but now since it has been made obsolete, the vegetarian choices are limited however I decided to order the homemade fish cakes with herbed cream fraiche chips and salad for $13.90 whilst it was absolutely delicious, being tasty with real fish , fresh herbs chives and dill not to much potato just enough to hold it together. The portion size i ate was way way too small. They were 3 balls not cakes or patties as expected and about the size of the garlic chicken balls you can buy from any takeaway shop. If portions were bigger I’ll happily give it 5 stars.17/07/18 New menu now. Not a great selection of vegetarian options. So I decided to order the Pea ,cheese & corn risotto with black garlic aioli . It was Not very nice. Garnished with popcorn. A bit weird.
We have been to this place several times since its reopening. Last year the food was good but this year, we are little bit disappointed. We order a medium steak and its obviously over cooked. Also, we waited more than 40 minutes for our food!!
Took that promo deal from the Fork to have 50% off food bill dinner at this beautiful place last night. We were lucky to arrive early evening; otherwise there was a long queue to place order. Honestly, service is very good and lay out sounds wonderful. We ordered the Dry Age Sirloin, Moreton Bay Bug Risotto and the Drunken Clam. Well, risotto was a let down, which was over-done. Texture of the risotto is similar like a thick Chinese congee. Having said that the taste is still passable (3/5). Drunken clam lacks the alcoholic flavour and not enough sauce. However, clams are all full with meat and they are just perfectly cooked (4/5). Hero is the sirloin, which is very beefy. Preparation for med-rare is no doubt spot-on and the gravy is really deserve big TICK (4.5/5). For a half price dinner, CP ratio is very high
I had been waiting more than 30 mins to get my rib fillet served. It was over cooked instead of medium rare I ordered. Pretty bad experience.
