I had teriyaki chicken.Lots of rice and not much of anything else. Not even a lot of sauce on the chicken or rice.I was a bit disappointed as have had other meals in 8 street and really enjoyed them. Won’t go back for this one.

I ordered Sizzling Honey Chicken. The rice was dry and the honey chicken was really bland…not worth the price of $12.80. Regret the choice of food when I was hungry

If Rice Town was an actual town, I’d probably go on a few holidays there. Chicken curry and rice was Delish. $14 for a curry and a drink is alright by me.

Rice Town! I don’t know why but I think the name is hilarious.Anyway, this is quick Chinese food served on a sizzling plate or in a bento box. The spicy squid was delicious, and the pepper beef was perfect with tender pieces of beef. Big serves, enough for dinner or very hungry lunchers. Around $13 each makes it a reasonable meal, on the expensive side for a food court meal but the quality is good.Goodluck getting a seat in 8 Street, apart from that we’ll be back for sure.

We were surprised when we found out the meat (both chicken & beef) was properly cooked – it’s not easy when the meal is served on the iron plate. The flavour/source was quite good too, reminding me the night markets in Taiwan. The only flaw is probably the lack of vegetables that will make this meal more nutrition balanced.

I would say the popularity of the Asian market restaurants at garden city have finally died down because I could actually walk in there and find a table straight away. I was tempted to get a ton of dumplings but Rice Town caught my eye so I ordered the sweet and sour pork and fried rice set and my partner ordered the braised pork and rice set. The service was quick and friendly and our meals were out quickly. They were served in an awesome bento box style and they looked great. I enjoyed all the vegetables on the side because I felt like I was being very healthy and then I moved on to my fried rice and sweet and sour pork which probably was not very healthy! The fried rice was delicious but the true star of the dish was the sweet and sour pork. It was perfect and I wish I had more right now just writing about it. The braised pork my partner had reminded me of a Vietnamese dish my mother makes that is one of my favourites so I enjoyed that as well. The food was great quality and really delicious.I’ll definitely come back and get more of their sweet and sour pork!

If I just read these reviews and looked at these pictures, I never would have eaten here. Fortunately I happened upon this place whilst looking for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. The food was coming quickly and looked tasty so I ordered the pepper blackbean chicken. It comes on a sizzling hot plate with rice and a fried egg, and it was delicious. I’ve actually been back here on two consecutive Sundays for lunch and eaten the same thing. I can’t speak for all their dishes, but this one is awesome.
