Salsa’s is another great location to visit for Mexican fast food located in several food courts. Alternatives to Salsa’s like Mad Mex or Guzman y Gomez, Salsa’s is slightly different as their concept and menu differs greatly to their competitors. The burritos/burrito bowls at Salsa’s comes with set flavours unlike GYG or Mad Mex where you choose the protein and other fillings. The prices are quite similar to their competitors however, I find portions, especially for the burrito bowls, to be much smaller.I ordered the chipotle chicken and guac burrito. The size of the burrito is smaller in comparison to other Mexican fast food locations. The flavours were okay but there was nothing special about this burrito. It was just chicken, a bit of vegetables and some guac. For some reason this burrito was quite soggy too – every bite a little bit of liquid came seeping out which made it quite hard to eat. By the time I got to the end of the burrito, it was very soggy. We also ordered the chip-burrito that comes with either steak, chicken or a vegetarian option (beans). I ordered the steak chip-burrito. The chip-burrito replaces rice and beans for the Salsa’s mexicrinkle chips. This burrito was nice but also a bit disappointing. The main part of the burrito were the chips so there was not much steak or tomatoes. The only other ingredients in the burrito were some sauces. This burrito was nice but a bit too much for me. I definitely prefer the standard rice and beans option.Overall, Salsa’s provides fresh Mexican food but with set flavours. I would prefer to return to GYG or Mad Mex where I can have more options and choice with what exactly I would want to put into my burrito.
