Great seafood but really bad customer service. You can never call and order prior because their phone either rings out or is constantly engaged. All the staff are very young and not friendly and often you will get home and find some of your order missing. If you email and complain, they don’t respond. If they improved their customer service, this place would be a gem.

Thanks for the great chips and use of the facilities. During the Brisbane floods last Friday you kindly let several of us borrow your toilet, which was greatly appreciated as we had been stranded on a bus for three hours. I bought a big tray of chips for everyone on board my bus, and they were a life saver – delicious and hot (especially loved the little crispy ones)! Thank you!

So good to see a place that cares about Customer Service!. I read a few reviews on here and noticed a few people complaining about the customer service. I seriously cant believe we would be talking about the same place after my experience. We quickly stopped in to this fish and chip shop for dinner after noticing how busy it was driving past. They closed at 7pm which we had no idea and we were there about 6:55pm. They had no problem taking our order and even let us sit and eat our meal and waited to pack up the table and chairs. The owner (im guessing) had great customer service and the food was fresh and one of the best fish and chips I have tasted in Brisbane. Definitely would drive out of my way to come back to this place again.

Crunchy chips n fresh fish!. After walking in and standing at the counter for 2 minutes unattended while at least 8 young staff members stood around looking useless, I almost walked out. Suddenly 4 staffers were standing at the counter ready to take our order! The place seems a bit scattered but holy cow the crumbed barramundi was fantastic and the chips were perfect! I found our new weekly fish n chip shop! The barra was a bit more expensive than most other fish shops but hot damn it’s worth it!

Try Cod Father. If you’re looking for decent fish n chips goto the CodFather on Stafford road. Great fish (sweetlip is fantastic) and excellent callamari. Worth the drive from Wavell – not that far.

Not a good experience. At Trawler Fresh, when ordering over the phone, you are asked for your full name. Having placed an order tonight, I was told that I face a wait of 20 minutes. I arrive in plenty of time, happy to wait a few minutes if it is not ready. I ask about the order, No, not ready. Fine. Ten minutes later I ask how it is progressing as I have small children waiting in the car (with another adult). I am told there are three orders in front of me. From time to time, I hear an order being called out. Not even close to my name. I do ask in case a mistake has been made, and am impatiently told it is not my order. I ask twice more at approximately 10 minute intervals. Finally after waiting for 45 minutes, and after other walk ins after me have long departed, I ask again about my order and I get an oops. Yes – that’s exactly what the girl said and handed me the order which had been sitting out on a bench for a long time (and yes, it is the order I had enquired about – the one with a name nothing like mine). I spoke to the server, and said that it was not right as I had asked after the order several times, she shrugged her shoulders and walked away. The food was greasy and disgusting as it had to be microwaved to warm it again and the fish tasted off. I then had to prepare dinner for five people who don’t want to eat the meal I bought and I did not blame them. To add insult to injury, I was going to call the manager/owner to discuss what had happened, but I was unable to do so. I couldn’t get through and when I did the calls rang out, because they close at 7.00pm. This is not the first time I have had problems. The staff are young – no matter – I support youth employment. But it does worry me when they just don’t care. They can be quite snippy when asked questions. It is not unreasonable to ask how large the portion size is for $X amount of chips or when the fish was caught or whether it is locally sourced. I also think it is perfectly reasonable to ask them to use another container if the one they are about to ladle food into, has been dropped on the floor – it’s not funny, and the customer is not being odd for asking about it. They might have pretensions to be a restaurant, but they aren’t – they are an overcrowded fish and chip shop with some offerings in other areas of the seafood trade. The oil isn’t always changed and the food is sometimes quite overcooked. I originally liked the place because it is five minutes away from my home, it has a sign indicating it is a fresh food business not a fast food business, and the food was very good. But over time, our weekly treat quickly dropped to monthly and it is now nearly a year since I last purchased food here. We won’t be back, and I guess neither will the lady who departed before me who queried the price she was charged. Although she asked in a quiet and pleasant manner about the prices, she received quite a take it or leave it attitude. DO yourself a favour. Don’t go there unless you are really desperate. There are other places which have their act together and whose products are really appetising.

Terrible service. Someone needs to buy this business and hire someone other than 16 year old kids who don’t know what they are doing.
