Lunch in WarwickWe had a terrific lunch at this vintage cafe on the main shopping street in Warwick. My frittata and salad was a little small, but my husband ploughman’s platter was amazing!! The scones were delicious and coffee was excellent too! (We saw other meals that looked really good – grilled fish and chips and burgers!)
On our way through Warwick last weekend, hubby and I stopped for a quick lunch. Hubby had a mixed berry smoothie ($6.50), while I had the caramel latte frappe with whipped cream ($6.50). He got his drink very promptly but we had to ask for mine, which seemed to have got lost along the way. But when it came, I was happy with the lovely caramel flavour, and delicious coldness. The hubby’s smoothie was thick and had lots of berry flavour, and was icy cold – perfect! He had the Club sandwich ($9.50) which came with the usual suspects – ham, turkey, avocado, brie, cranberry relish. He liked this classic sandwich which was well-filled and came toasted. I had the Atlantic ($7.90) – smoked salmon with onion, avo, cream cheese, and capers on grain bread. I enjoyed this one; with soft bread, not too many grains, and generous filling. I would have liked a bit more cream cheese though. We shared a small bowl of chips ($4), with aioli an extra 50 cents. I’m afraid I didn’t really enjoy these as the chips had been covered with some seasoning (chicken salt??) which made them dry and over-salted (and yellow).Service was friendly and prompt; the atmosphere welcoming as the café itself is in a lovely century-old building with a pressed tin ceiling and industrial-style pendant lamps. All in all, a nice stopover and a tasty lunch.
Excellent coffee by Byron Bay coffee. Perfect for a warm Warwick winter day. Old cafe style interior was like stepping back in time. Will be back to select from their menu.
Amazing!. Amazing Byron bay coffee! Exceptional service you won’t be disappointed. Definitely a stop for me when I’m in Warwick! Try the chicken burger, best one ever!
Guaranteed delicious. I have eaten here for both lunch and breakfast and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.
