Terrible food. A chicken calzone made with cubed processed chicken, a squid salad special that hadn’t even been seasoned. Save your money and hit a maccas instead – the food quality is higher.
Diana. Passing the Lyric Theatre recently I meandered into The Cafe. Nice outdoor setting & fast efficient service. The array of sweet treats in the cabinet inside is mind blowing-french style masterpieces with intricate design. Was quite suprising for me as I wasn’t expecting such eye candy! They tasted devine. My coffee was a tiny $3 for a Grinders brew -although it had Giancarlo on the cups. Quite a good cup- smooth with a decent crema
Save your money. Found the food disappointing, bacon was very fatty and the eggs were over cooked. The only thing I enjoyed was the coffee.
Surprisingly good coffee!!!!!. $3 small, $3.5 large. I wasnt expecting much as the place was empty apart from one other customer getting takeaway coffee. Ordered a skinny flat white. Foam was perfect and coffee itself was fab too!! Totally satisfied my morning caffeine craving 😀
Don’t bother – will never go back. Had quick meal here tonight with my 2 daughters enroute to a show. Ordering at the counter is a bit confusing but ok. You have to get your own softdrinks, cutlery, napkins, sauces and carry the table number back after you’ve placed your order. Cost $65 for 3 people – one of the meals was an entree so not cheap. The fried chicken wings were well cooked, but served with a lack lustre soggy salad – not even a cherry tomato. The tempura whiting and chips was disgusting. The fish was frozen fillets that you get in large bags from the wholesalers. The fish ahd an unpleasant fishy aftertaste unlike any whiting I’ve ever had. For $16 you could expect a piece of actual fresh whiting or fish and a few chips, Terrible salad – soggy and slimy but we got one cherry tomato in this one. The special was a chicken & herb fusilli. Got a plate of cold pasta with herb sauce and a chicken maryland that had been over cooked, hard to cut, hard to chew and just presented in a very sloppy manner. At least the Fanta was exactly as ordered and the glass of wine was in a glass. Totally ripped off. Will be writing to them about this as am so annoyed with the experience. The staff running the kitchen should be sacked immediately – disgraceful.
Ordinary. Found the food disappointing – 1 diner had pasta which appeared to have been microwaves as it was quite hard on some edges and 1 diner had the cajun chicken – chicken was hard to cut with knife supplied and the plate was overloaded with dreadful soft chips! Need I say more. Ordering food and drinks confusing – people did not seem to know that they needed to stand in the ‘food’ line if they wanted to order a drink. Staff appeared to be doing their best. don;’t waste your time – have dinner at home or elsewhere.
Dreadful stale sandwich & shockingly slow service. Waited in line for nearly 20 mins for lunch only to buy a pre-made stale sandwich. I feel so ripped off.
