Chu The Phat, located a 5 min walk from Cultural Centre bus station has been a located I have always wanted to try but continually walk past. I saw their $20 cocktail and dumpling event on Facebook so quickly got the crew together for a chill catch up. My dumplings were nice, though I still prefer my own mothers or even the ones at my local yum Cha. The Strawberries and Cream cocktail was delicious and tasted just like strawberry ice cream. I also tried the lycheetini which smelt better than it tasted, and I also tried the Vietnamese iced coffee cocktail which was a stunner and even better than my strawberries and cream. Service when ordering was friendly despite the lady having a few tech issues with the pos ordering system. The matre d was not the friendliest and very rude when giving instructions to my friends who had arrived to the restaurant early.
Have been wanting to visit Chu the phat for quite sometime and Im pleased to say it didnt disappoint! We went there with my family tonight and tried a number of different dishes including smoked trout dumplings, duck dumplings, mung bean pancakes, Anna nannas chilli chicken, the wagyu beef and more! All the food was extremely tasty. The place has a really nice fit out and staff are friendly and accommodating.
This place is ok- its across the road from work so we stopped in for some lunch. There wasnt anything on the special menu I liked, so got the spinach noodles. I wasnt expecting much so was pretty happy to get a bowl full of mushroom, tofu, peanuts and other bits. It looked amazing but was a little bland- I got chilli paste and that made it better. Everyone else was pretty happy with their dish. Keen to see what else they have coming up for lunch.
