Maybe I’m old fashioned, but I am sick of seeing great pubs that had character being converted into yuppie type part restaurant, part bar and function area !. The old Melbourne hotel, now the Hotel Westend is one I find really annoying. Food here was average at best, and the vibe of the place reminds me of a uncles wake I went to years ago !. Why do they try and change a successful place with a modern take, that seems no one is really going to like, except at about 11 o’clock on a Friday night when they have 2 for 1 spirit deals. All the food was ok pub grub, but gravy was like water and chicken wings just average. Sorry miss the old place.

Nice atmosphere and very lovely staff, the tuesday rib night was a bargain, $11.95 for ribs with chips and a salad, the ribs could have been bigger but definitely worth it for that price.

This place is grand for a work lunch, the $10 specials hit the spot on Friday. Filling and good value but really nothing special. I had the flathead, which was ok, very generous serving as one would expect.

Service was slow despite being almost empty. Food was average. Staff member was friendly. Ordered the pesto chicken for $19. Chicken was bland, pesto sauce had only a slight pesto flavour. Pumpkin and feta salad contained 3 small pieces of pumpkin and what appeared to be a single cube of feta crumbled over the top. Overall a very average and overpriced meal. Would not recommend and will not be returning.

$10 lunches are the reason I go here sometimes. Its never crazy busy so we always manage to get our food quickly. The steak is pretty good for the price. There are seats outside if you want to watch the world go by and inside is big enough to cater for large groups

As a local and a regular I expect to be treated better than a floor rug.I called through to make a reservation and place my food order only to be told to email it through. This is something that I don’t mind, but upon turning up, not only had they not received our order they hadn’t even reserved a table for us.Party of 6, so not too many people but still inconvenient if the place hasn’t set aside a table for our order. My party of 6 and myself are also on a tight schedule and have now had to wait for our order to be made, instead of being ready like it would’ve been if they had just taken our order like we tried to place in the beggining. Not impressed, staff weren’t even apologetic that they hadn’t actioned our order. It’s now 1:20pm and our food order that should’ve been ready by 1:05 isn’t in sight at all

Poor Service. Came here for lunch with friends on a Friday. It wasn’t overly busy. Everyone else had finished eating and my meal had still not come out. Apparently they forgot about it. I got a refund and left hungry. Not overly impressed with the whole experience.
