The food here in next level amazing! It says a lot when an Italian restaurant can make a delicious vegan pizza and pasta! 10/10 would recommend
Favourite Italian restaurant in Brisbane hands down! Food is superb every time. Authentic Italian food. Great vibe. The guys that work there are all so friendly and more than happy to recommend dishes. A restaurant I would recommend to everyone!
I went to Luigis with some friends on a Saturday night. The food is amazing, but the service was slow and took ages. Concededly, it was a busy night but they had heaps of staff in who seemed more concerned gossiping behind the bar than running meals or taking orders. When we went to leave, they charged us an extra $2 each to make an even split of the bill, which seemed a bit cheeky, but I guess thats their call to deter people splitting the bill. Probably a better takeaway joint than dining in. All that said, the pastas were delish and this place has the potential to be really awesome.
It’s alright. Food and wine pretty good quality. The service is pretty laid back though, sometimes annoyingly laid back. Took a bit to be served.
The boys who run this venue are clearly entrepreneurial and credit to them for having a go. During my recent visit with two other friends there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food or the venue itself. The Pizza’s that we ordered were rustic and tasty, the onion bread delicious and the beetroot salad was the jewel. The killer is the prices these guys charge. We had 3 plate sized pizza’s, onion bread and a salad and we shared a bottle of red. When the bill came we got small change out of $170. The wine was a reasonable Australian red that retails for $19 and was on the menu at $67. We thought about a desert but couldn’t agree to another $14 for Gelato. These guys are in business and profit isn’t a dirty word but this isn’t the high street and poor value was the killer for me.
I absolutely love the parmigana and next time will probably get two because it’s pretty tiny. The first time we came was actually last summer and had a terrible experience: it was about 15 mins before they closed but the staff said it’d be no problem for us to order. They’d run out of pizza so we had to order pasta. We sat inside as it was hot outside, but after we’d ordered they turned the aircon off and it very hot, very quick, and the staff were decidedly uninterested once it hit 9pm. The salad was disappointing as it was mostly leaves but the pasta was nice and parmigana, delicious. We hadn’t gone back until recently because of that experience, but were happy with the food and staff and will avoid coming back near closing time. The montepulciano wine was delightful as well – I would highly recommend it.
Such a pleasant surprise!I’m always cautious about Italian places in Australia; typically overpriced and serve food I could easily make at home. This is not the case at Luigi’s however! Rich delicious flavours, generous servings, and a cruisy intimate atmosphere.Do recommend!
