I decided to try out the new poke cafe on my way home last Friday. I was having a frustrating day and just wanted to eat something that tasted good, but also healthy (new year, new me etc). Poke Co did not disappoint! The guy who served me was really lovely, friendly and accommodated my request for seared salmon which I appreciated after the day I was experiencing.I ordered a regular salmon classic from the Chefs Classic Bowls, a green tea and at the last minute (because I was starving, it was 4pm and it was a reallllly late lunch) I also ordered a katsu prawn roll.I know the food is the focus here, but I just want to mention that I thought I had bought a Lipton ice tea. What I had actually bought was a Japanese ice tea and it was way better! It tasted like real green tea.I ordered my food to go and on the walk home and because I was too hungry, I ended up eating the prawn roll on my way home. Omg it was soo good! Like even the bread tasted good. I wish Id bought 2.The poke bowl was filled to the brim with fresh ingredients and for a regular size, it was more than sufficient!Suki does a great tasting poke, but I found that Poke Cos flavour was better! Whatever sauce or dressing they used it was creamy, tasty and perfect. The salmon was cooked just right and even the rice was done right. I find Cheeky Pokes rice to be clumpy and dense as it doesnt break up easily and while that might seem trivial, thats not how I like my rice in poke.I would 100% recommend and will definitely be back for more! Also, sorry for the quality of the photo. I had already started eating before I decided to take a photo. I dont normally do reviews, but this place deserves one. Their food is absolutely great and they are a family run business that recently opened up (I think maybe at the end of last year?). The guy who runs it was so nice to me, the cafe itself looks great and I like the idea of supporting local.

As much as I love poke, we often end up recreating it at home as I am always weary about buying it outside. Portions are usually too small in comparison to the price. Poke Co sign has been on my radar since the sign has been put up in the last few of months. We were walking past one day when it finally opened and decided to give it a go. We ordered the regular size Classic Tuna and Tofu bowls ($12 each). We watch while the ingredients were prepared and tossed in front of us and I was particularly impressed with the freshness and quality of ingredients. Taste wise, the flavours were simple, light, but refined and beautiful. Well definitely be back for more!
