When you walk or drive past – you wouldn’t expect the food to be as good as it is. Yes, M & I were judgmental of the initial appearance of the place but I really loved the food! The mango chicken was creamy and delicious, the naan bread was fresh and extremely delicious (it’s hard to come across naan bread that isn’t though). Rice is cooked perfectly and the little side dishes were yummy- oily but yummy. Unfortunately, the lamb korma was a bit watery. Not as good as other Indian places we have eaten so that is why I’ve knocked my rating from a 4.0 to a 3.5. Great prices… that’s always great.
We live in Kangaroo Point and still travel to get the cheapest Indian in the Brisbane Core. It’s really cheap so doesn’t look like much and they only accept cash, but the food is perfect for a quick, lazy dinner and tastes great. Would definitely recommend for a takeaway dinner night.
The food was great. The service was friendly and very prompt. The atmosphere was terrific with the Indian music and video clips. The prices were unbelievable!! We drive in from Sunnybank once a week to eat there and I would highly recommend the Indian Kitchen to anyone. Try the Lamb Korma!! Sam & Cathy Watson.
Ducked into The Indian Kitchen for a quick curry after my lunch plans fell through. This was my third visit here. My first two trips here were polar opposites – the vegetarian curries on the first trip were really good (4), but the second visit was for Chicken Tikka Naan (2) and Samosas (2.5), neither of which hit the mark.Today I went with Chicken Korma and Rice. The chicken was very tender and it was a generous serving for $8, but it was very wet and pretty bland – to be fair it was advertised as mild, but there is a difference between the level of spice and flavour in general. The fact that there was a small bone in my last bite of chicken didn’t impact my rating.Good price and you can be in and out in a matter of minutes, so I’m sure I’ll return at some point.
Without exaggeration the best value food short of the supermarket.$6 vege curry plate will fill you up with a great tasting meal. Not the best Indian I’ve ever had, but close enough and the price speaks for itself.Friendly staff, nice atmosphere.
Great place to come for a satisfying Indian meal. Its not authentic but it still tastes great. Its somewhat value for money. A lot of taxi drivers and backpackers do dine here and it does create that special atmosphere. They also have Indian music clips playing on TV which I enjoy watching while eating. I do hope they increase their serving sizes a little to accommodate the $2 increase in all meals. The butter chicken is amazing, perhaps the best in Brisbane. The garlic naan is also delightful. Don’t be deterred by the lady serving the meals. It’s true she has no personality and she won’t smile at you. But the food definitely makes up for it.
This is the best Indian food I have ever had. Travelled 40mins with a bunch of mates just so we could have some. So worth it. Great value for the portions and amazing taste with all the curries. The lady working was absolutely lovely. Definitely recommended.
