  We had a hankering for a steak on Wednesday night (07/01) so we went to the pub. Being out-of-towners, we had no idea that it was steak night. HEAPS of people. So we thought that indicated that this would be good. The price was good for my partner’s steak and he was quite pleased with it. However, I ordered the midi eye fillet which was obviously not included in the special. That’s cool. But I expect it to be cooked as I ordered it (medium-well). It was burnt. Still tender, but burnt. I would’ve complained except it took 45 minutes for our order to come out. I was hungry and didn’t want to sit and watch my partner eat and then hang around waiting for a replacement or something different. The kitchen was crazy busy (poor buggers) but when I pay good money for a steak I expect it to be good. The accompanying salad and potato were great and in this regard, The Norman Hotel could take notes (their salad and Idaho potato is good but not as good as this). The Norman consistently has 3 or 4 times the number of customers than were at The Woodford Pub that night and yet I’ve never had a bad steak there. Here, you’re paying about the same for an eye fillet as you would at The Norman and it comes out black on the outside. Not impressed. Will go back to my faithful garlic prawns. The staff were great and very friendly. Will be back, just not for steak.
