Love these guys, authentic Chinese Malaysian food. The duck is fantastic, great price, good vibe. Simple quality food done well. The prawn dumplings were unbelievably good! Classic Asian style simple setup, don’t judge by bells and whistles, judge by quality of the food!
Popped in with my friend to the plaza for a very late lunch We quickly wanted to eat and the first eatery was this place and most unfortunately we chose this establishment The food chosen was one meal of bbq pork and dry noodles the noodles were actually very tasty but the pork well… it looked very nice, well sliced and presented on top of the noodles…to be polite the pork was tough, dry and definitely not todays freshness The combination noodles which was $14.90 was a combination of bbq pork, soy chicken, and duck.Fresh presentation of the dish was well dished a half soy whole egg, portions of the above. The egg I dont eat so I have to my friend, the pork was warm like reheated and very dry but tasty the duck was basically inedible due to all bone, so only a taste of the meat obtained the rest discarded, the chicken was on the photo that of fillet but on talking to the girl taking the order it is drumstick only was of a eating , so when commenced eating the chicken was completely bone the flesh fatty and that to was quickly discarded to the plate of duck pieces So meal was promptly completed by consuming a few mouthfuls of noodle a whole meal left untouched on the tableNo takeaway scraps needed all I will say is once u have had the above in Sunnybank u will understand my comments… I cant see longevity here, hey… Ive been wrong in the pastGordons Girl

I was in a bit of a hurry when I popped into Kopitiam Street Food Bar and was looking for lunch on the run. They recommended the Braised Pork Rice, both as a Chef’s Selection, but also because it would be very quick.I was in and out in under three minutes and for under $10 I had a large bowl of braised pork belly, hard boiled egg, greens and a generous serving of rice.Good value and the service was fantastic, but the flavour and texture left something to be desired…Not bad, but not good either. The biggest let down was the lack of sauce and the fact that the greens were translucent and without flavour. This rated a 2.5.I’ll plan to return for the purposes of trying their Malaysian White Coffee and the Roti Canai at some point, but primarily because it is local and convenient. For my money, the best Malaysian hawker food can be found at PappaRich (Wintergarden).
