Super friendly staff with mediocre food and drinks. Coffee was a tad burnt, food lacking flavours and their iced tea was watery. Very convenient location with good parking though.
Friendliest employees ever. So sweet and lovely. They gave me directions and allowed me to sit there for ages after I finished my coffee to read. Coffee and chai had lovely flavours. Expensive and my iced coffee was a bit small but still great place. Decor is so hip and different.
Good service and decent price, was able to get a lovely smashed avo with dukkah and still afford my mortgage. Probably the best coffee available in the area, also.
staff are really friendly! great location and perfect spot for a good breakfast. my favorite is their smashed avo with poached eggs! my friend who visited here recently also loved it and for a reasonable price!
Have been a regular here since it opened, the staff are lovely and their food is delicious! Everything is cooked in house and the coffee is great too. Nice spot to sit and watch the Gabba community go by or to sit and read the paper on a weekend while having a gorgeous brunch.
After a whirlwind 3 days in Brisbane visiting relatives and friends, we found ourselves here for a light breakfast before our morning activities and then the airport. First impressions were not bad, open space, well presented, a theme of sorts that made sense including the big bear in the corner. The menu on the blackboard didn’t quite match what was on the paper menus however, so if you don’t see the paper menu on the counter and only look at the blackboard, you might miss some of what is on offer.I had a smashed avocado and dukkah on rye, while my wife had a corn fritter stack. She also ordered a berry smoothie, while I had an iced coffee (with icecream instead of cream). The turnaround was relatively quick, while we listened to cover versions of well known pop songs. My smashed avo was okay. Good amount of avocado, probably could have done with more dukkah and more of the rocket they had garnished it with. What I didn’t quite get though was the thin dribble of what I can only presume is olive oil around the outer edge of the plate, not quite decoration, but yet also not really functional as any sort of dressing for the dish itself (which did have some drizzled on it).The corn fritters was a good size and my wife also had no complaints about it, though was not really singing any praises of note. Now to our drinks. Good amount of icecream, and their peruvian organic coffee blend was pretty smooth. A medium to dark roast without the burnt bitterness you could find in a dark. I did find it a bit on the sweet side, so they may have already sweetened it prior to adding the icecream. Additionally, it was made with ice cubes, rather than a blended/frappe type of iced coffee. Not a big deal, I didn’t know what kind was on offer, and it really doesn’t matter to me. The berry smoothie wasn’t blended long enough, as there were still large pulp masses of berries, and also the seeds could have been broken down a little more so it was a bit less ‘grainy’.Overall, a good little place to chill and watch the traffic go by.Oh, also, their table system is done by jars with letters of B E A R T O W N on them, we had the W. The jars were cute with little pictures of bears, and filled with loose leaf tea.
Good coffee, good pastries and good service. Today was an iced latte and babyccino, almond croissant and banana bread. Happy to recommend Beartown Coffee House.
