Good food, great service and smooth coffee. Do not expect anything amazingly beautiful on a super expensive plate. The food is simple, flavoursome and quick. All the staff are super friendly and efficient.

Confident I was going to find a park, I travelled to Woolloongabba to try out Brown Dog Cafe. As I make an arrival, all the street parking was full… so I decided to wait around and luckily got a space near the cafe Brown Dog Cafe gives out some rustic vibes. Furnished with some pastel coloured wooden tables and paired with tarnished chairs, it introduces a somewhat relaxing feel. Looking into their well layout menu, there were traditional breakfast choices on offer otherwise you might be interested in their ‘Today’s Special’ board that’s hung near the entrance of the cafe. I went ahead and ordered the Breakfast Bagel. My caffeinated beverage consisted of a Flat White today.Coffee – Presented with a thin layer of smooth froth, a good brew and served hot.Food – My Bagel was covered with Sesame Seeds and served with Bacon, Fried Egg, Swiss Cheese, Rocket and Tomato Relish (Added Avocado fro $2.00). The tomato relish had a mild spicy flavour. The Swiss cheese was fully melted and mixed in with the relish perfectly. Fresh rockets were then layered on top followed by 3 layers of nicely cooked bacon. Tasty ripe avocado and finished off with a beautifully cooked fried egg A cafe accompanied by friendly staff :)Thank you, Brown Dog Cafe.

Last weekend, we decided to search for somewhere new to scratch the brunch itch. Living in the southside, we decided not to venture north of the river that morning. After doing some shopping at the nearby FujiMart, my companions and I headed to Brown Dog Cafe in Woollonggabba for a bite to eat. With the weather considerably cooling, we were glad to have come at this time of the year, as they didn’t have air conditioning.

Great coffee and very well turned out baked goods, dished up by friendly, efficient staff.Their kitchen pumps out some very good dishes given the limited facilities, and there’s inside or outside seating… But it fills up fast.

Did a random pop in to this place – wasn’t sure what to expect when I first walked in but to my pleasant surprise I spotted a selection of ‘fruit toast ‘ in the cabinet. Anyone who knows me knows my affinity for fruit-based bread so you can imagine my delight when I was introduced to their mango and coconut bread. Thick, lightly toasted with chunks of mango, this bread did not disappoint. The coffee was smooth and sweet (good beans).

Good coffee, a wide variety of baked goods, decent grill menu and ample street parking make Brown Dog Cafe worthy of a repeat visit.Today I ducked in for a cookie for my daughter, an iced latte and croissant for my wife. I intended to be in and out in a couple minutes, but didn’t realise that the croissant would need to be grilled and served with butter and jam. All of the cooking takes place on one large sandwich press and it was full of bacon eggs and haloumi, so it took about 10 minutes to get the croissant. In the end it was good, but not worth the wait.Depending on the time of day there is virtually no shade to be found at the outside tables and on a hot day like today the inside heats up quite a bit.

Slightly disappointing considering the reviews it has. The coffee was ok, the bacon and egg bagel was tasty and again, its order then sit so good luck with a table when its busy.
