The Pineapple Hotel serves up good steaks at prices slightly below what you will find in South Brisbane and South Bank. I’ve been twice for working lunches, but not a place I have ever considered dining for dinner with the family.

Unbelievably bad. From a 6:30 ordering time until 9:00 when our last diner finished eating because food just wasn’t brought out to the table.1 hour for the first meals to arrive in a restaurant barely a third full. One of our group was just starting on her meal when the rest were finished.Orders were wrong: the waitress admitted the kitchen didn’t even know what the menu was.No dressing on the tasteless Vietnamese salad, waitress brought out a thimble-full of olive oil after we complained.Lettuce in one salad was basically rotten.$8.50 for two prawns. Literally. Two prawns. The waitresses were… incompetent mostly. The heartfelt plea to forgive them was basically just a list of things they had messed up for everyone in the place all night, phrased as some sort of explanation? We know your restaurant is rubbish. Just listing the reasons isn’t an explanation! They bribed us with a free round of drinks which also took 20 minutes to arrive! So nice to have a beer with your dessert.A shit experience all around and we won’t be going back after a decade or more of visiting a few times a year. This place has died in the arse – unless you want to booze up with fat old geezers betting on the greyhounds.Too expensive for such ridiculously bad food and service. Basil Fawlty would have a hard time doing worse.

$10 lunch specials every day!!! Can’t go wrong. This is my new go to place for a cheap pub meal. Look, it’s not a fine dining restaurant, it’s a pub (although there is a restaurant but I’ve only eaten at the sports bar side) so I’m reviewing it for what it is…. A pub. I’ve tried all of their specials and they were all great value and really nice. I usually skip a fish and chips from somewhere like this but I love it, it’s actually nicer than some quite expensive fish specialty restaurants in the area, not mentioning any names (Fishmongers Wife) Highly recommend the steak burger, a great quality little rib fillet that was tender and delicious. Good side of chips and nice little fresh salad (although stop with the sliced tomato already and serve as a wedge or a cherry) treat yourself and add a side of mushroom sauce or Diane to dip your chips in (you’re welcome). Try find a better value and better tasting pub special, and if you do let me know!!!

Poor. Chicken Parmiagana was not good. Neither was the nachos— it’s really simple to make a good salsa for Nachos. This was just barbecue sauce with standard (i.e., out of a bag) nachos with been mince and sour cream.

Schnit: Parma.Presented with the option of chicken and chips at the cricket, we fled and dashed through rain to the Pineapple Hotel in Brisbane. What we have here is the Saturday Parma – a solid, perfectly burned-edges slab of chicken. Bacon, cheese and onion tastes as good as it looks. Decent fries, a boat of peppercorn and, based on what we could have been stuck with, a rainy rating…

For a pub/steakhouse meal, the Pineapple Hotel has really turned up its game. I came here about 6 years ago with just an ‘ok’ feeling afterwoods, but this year I believe they have had a chef change who has really changed things around. It’s no longer just a pub meal, presentation and quality have been turned up a notch and some of these dishes wouldn’t be out of place in a more fine dining restaurant. The prices are also quite good for what you get on the plate. The steaks are pretty good, and came out well cooked. Entrees were also fantastic. I couldn’t really fault the dishes. The pork belly slaw was maybe too salty, but all in all very well executed. The desserts whilst simple, were great. Excellent value for money too!

We went to the Pineapple hotel recently for a family get together & thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were friendly, the play area kept the kids entertained, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced. The kids chicken and chips was real crumbed chicken breast very fresh and tasty. We will definitely be back.
