I had been looking forward to trying Alminas on Gawler as I am already a fan of their desserts and biscuits. A lunch opportunity presented and I opted for the meat kibbeh and a sujuk (sausage) maneesh. The kibbeh and accompanying sauces were delicious however, the maneesh was disappointing. I was expecting a stuffed, folded bread and received a blond pizza with a few toppings. Friendly staff. The breakfast menu runs most of the day and has some interesting options on it.
Great coffee, great food and great service. I really enjoy coming here at any time of the day, whether it is to grab a coffee, to have lunch (the vegie platter is amazing!!) or for some sweet treats ($8.50 for a tasting plate of deserts – best deal ever!) The young woman on the counter is always super-friendly and makes a mean long black. 🙂
Too much wait time and the lady on counter is not at all courteous. Bad customer service, no issue in waiting for your food however little courteous behaviors is not bad. Bad packaging of food.
Ive heard all sorts of good things about Alminas and I finally got to visit them during lunch. Their chicken wraps are soooo delicious and flavourful! The most important thing is it wasnt greasy or fattening at all like you may find in some wraps. It felt quite light but full at the same time. My friends had the lamb and falafel wraps and they also really enjoyed it! Others had the pizza and kibbeh and they liked them too! Staff was friendly and welcoming. When we went to pay, you couldnt resist the mouthwatering desserts they had display. I had to try some and for some takeaway – was delicious! Definitely recommended and may likely be one of my favourite lunch spots now!
