I re-visited and re-ordered the roast pork banh mi which is at the pricier end of the banh mi scale at $7.50 (there are cheaper options in the CBD) however, it was as good as last time. The pork was tender and juicy but had crackling too. And lots of meat in every mouthful. The roll was bulging! Definitely worth a try.
Killer Banh Mi right in the middle of the city. Fresh ingredients, crunchy roll and taste is spot on. No skimp on the amount of meat either. The staff are friendly, service is fast, and there’s lots of outdoor seating so you can sit in the sun on your lunch break. Also had a Coconut Juice which was refreshing and delicious.
Anyone who has looked at my dineline will know how often I find myself eating Banh Mi. I’m really quite a fan, and these ones are superb. Fresh roll, great condiments, chicken that tastes like its straight off the BBQ and PLENTY of pickled carrots (nothing annoys me more than places that skimp on the carrots … actually lots of things annoy me more but thats for a different blog.) Added to the great food there’s also loads of seating space, both in and outside making this more than just a grab and go. I’m impressed.
Banh mi banh mi… They are literally everywhere now! So many of these stores are opening up in the past few years, especially in the city. There are many places that sell banh mi near here but I’m not sure if there are many that are as good and authentic as this place. I went for my signature roast pork banh mi and it was beautiful. Each bite was filled with roast pork, carrot and cucumber. If you’re craving for a banh mi and you’re in town, you should definitely come here.
Tasty Banh Mi, I really liked Momma Vinnys marinated tofu! Cold rolls are super fresh and herby, reminded me being in Vietnam. Service was extremely friendly and attentive. Good knowledge of dietary requirements. Recommend and will return.
Beautiful Vietnamese rolls and cold rolls! I especially love the selection of sauces – the manager (owner, perhaps?), Andy, was excited for us to try his Aunty’s mung bean sauce which was great. We had them cater with cold rolls for a function and they were perfect with delicious Vietnamese mint – just like in Vietnam. The service was better than I could ask for.
The Viet coffee here is on point! Absolutely NGON! I cant stress the difficulty in achieving the perfect balance of coffee and condense milk when making Vietnamese coffee, but Banh Mi gets it done right. At a price of $2 per cup every Monday, it is the best way to start the week. I go here religiously and it is worth every gold coin. The banh mi rolls are absolutely amazing as well!
