Great bar for drinks, particularly impressed by their huge selection of gin! Would skip their pizzas and head to nearby Peel Street for snacks instead.
Still one of my go to bars in the city. The bar staff are always extremely helpful, great range of local spirits and good food to go with your drinks.
Went to Bank Street Social on a quiet Thursday night after work. The bar is located in an underground position and has an industrial feel with the exposed brick, wooden beams, and dim lighting. They have an impressive selection of whiskeys (and whiskys), vodkas, and gin, as well as many other spirits. The bar staff were very friendly and knew what they were talking about. We did not get a chance to try out the pizza, but we’ll be sure to return and give it a shot!
Poppy likes the walk underground to the Bank Street Social Bar. However he doesn’t like the newly introduced $10 cover charge for Friday or Saturday nights. What a joke. You already pay astronomical amounts of money for drinks once you’re at the Bar, however I digress. Fantastic atmosphere and fit-out, great crowd, however still too many hipsters for Poppys liking but what can you do? Maybe charge them $20 entry, but that’s just a suggestion. Poppy has also on multiple occasions ordered a drink however the bartender has misunderstood because of the crowd and music noise and poured the incorrect drink and not offered to make the correct one or not charge Poppy for the incorrect one. Unprofessional in Poppys book. Still worth checking it out though when having a night on the town
Bank Street Social has become a reliable spot for a good night out. You can get some pretty tasty pizzas, served until 10pm. Alternatively, it’s great for a relaxing cocktail or a few, or a night out! Music is good, crowds pretty reliable. All this adds to generally great atmosphere at Bank Street Social.
A top class bar with a diverse range of drinks, Bank Street Social is one of my favourite bars in Adelaide. The atmosphere is great, and the clientele of the bar are always people you wouldn’t mind rubbing shoulders with, which you inevitably do due to the bar’s popularity. The service is quick and friendly, and the pizzas on offer aren’t fantastic, especially if you’re in the mood for something filling at 9:45pm but don’t want McDonald’s. The only criticism I have is of the cocktails – once a friend of mine ordered a caprioska and the drink was incredibly sour – there wasn’t a balance between the lime and sugar which made the drink quite unappealing. However on two occasions I’ve had the espresso martini which was great, and the mojito is also a nicely made drink. All in all a great establishment which I frequently return to.
