  Best pizza in Adelaide right now. The lamb and eggplant pizza was truly divine. Love all the pizza dough entrees and the meatballs, such a diverse menu.

  This was my first visit to Madre. It most certainly won’t be my last. I was recommended this restaurant by my mother after she read a review in The Australian. I was a visitor to Adelaide and was staying at the other end of the city on North Terrace. I caught the free tram to Gilbert street and found this absolute Gem. I had no booking and was a solo diner. The hospitality was brilliant and I was made to feel so welcome and the service matched this high quality all night. The service staff were really friendly and took their time in explaining the menu and made some killer recommendations. I wasn’t really in the mood for Pizza but this place is all about the dough. I had a fried pizza entre which was sublime so I got a taste for future visits. Incredible, try it for yourself. I had the pasta special for main and was equally blown away. Close your eyes and you’re in the best pasta restaurant in Rome. I washed it down with a fine glass of Italian red and towards the end of my pasta some beautiful bread arrived so that I could mop up the sauce. Wonderful food, wonderful service and ambience and so welcoming. Can’t wait to be back. I think I have found my new fave in Adelaide. I dine out here 4 nights a month and this will be a regular. Nearly forgot the best bit. Cracking value.
