Fresh oysters, cozy atmosphere and a mother-like customer service. Bring your closest companion and order a glass of red wine. What can you ask for more? Simply the best way to enjoy your Friday night.

Having read the reviews before coming here, I think I ended up coming for what the money was worth. For two long weeks I deliberated over whether to go to the Oyster Bar for oysters, but being closed on Wednesdays (which is when their specials are on), I ended up coming here. $19 for a dozen of natural oysters? Yes please! This is as cheap as it gets if you’re looking for a decent restaurant serving up the freshest oysters! Their rainbow oysters were $29 for a dozen (so any two assortment of oysters from the menu) and I would say that’s a fair and reasonable price for some high quality oysters. Lamb souvlakia for $21 was very tasty and very reasonably priced as well; downside would be that I found the lamb to be a little tough.

Can’t beat having freshly shucked oysters on the spot , and if people don’t like oysters natural, there’s more than 8 different styles of cooked oysters and a beautiful Greek menu with yummy shashliks. Beautiful and friendly owners and staff

A greek restaurant who really know their seafood, wth greek Mumma upstairs doing all the cooking! If u have the option, must try the Smokey Bay oysters au naturel there. Even if u dont like natural oysters. Because never used to, but i am quite a fan now. I always preferred cooked with topping. If u’ve ever been to the Greek Islands, or had mates whove visted the Greek Isles or Greece and they cant go on enough about the food/seafood and how it tastes like its literally been caught off a fishing boat just off the beach ur eating at, and the calamari etc, then u know what i mean about Metro. It was a quiet and cold night we came. Quiet inside and nearly didnt go in because i count that as something to avoid bad food. BUT! very happy we stumbled across this modern joint with the big fireplace.Food, whether u prefer oysters or Greek fare (and all what looked to be good local fare which is oh so important to our beautiful foody State of ours!) is to die for (owner was kind enough to let me try two on the house).Add a glass of good South Aussie Red – Chapel Hill Parsons Nose. And u have a match made in heaven. The oysters i would say after trying a few in town, are the freshest ive come across outside of seafood capital Port Lincoln. And as I mentioned above I usually dont like natural oysters. But after trying the natural oysters there, i think i prefer them over my usual faves – mornay or kilpatrick.Perfect amt of salt water balance. Not too big a mouthful – more like the Sydney Rock Oyster size but far better flavour than SRO’s. Oh how i love living in our foodie state!Am so happy to have this place close by. As i will pop in for takeaway etc when i feel a hankering for them as my partner doesnt like oysters. Shame. But am so sad to hear they are only opened Thurs – Sat’d !Oh well, this is gonna have to be a Friday lunchtime tradition to spoil myself weekly (for all the hard work I do) with gorgeous greek food and the loveliest oysters i have encountered yet (outside the Greek Isles). And i didnt even mention the lamb we had, but i dont need to. Greek Mumma upstairs doing the cooking shld be enough to give u a hint on what that was like!God Bless Metro and their Mumma!

If you love fresh, locally sourced food plus good service….. We came for the oysters, we stayed for the grilled shashliks and finished with homemade baklava & ice cream. The wine list is good, includes a good selection of local ales. Good value. Agree! this is one of Adelaide’s best kept secrets.

Great find!. A dozen freshly shucked oysters….YUM, grilled chicken shaslicks and chips, a glass of delicious wine followed by home made Baklava, Pistelli (the best I have EVER had) and Ice cream!! $35 a head!! This place is Adelaide’s best kept secret. Will be back there for sure, especially in the colder weather when they stoke up their huge fire place. Well done Metro Oyster Bar!
