Enter a door just before you get to the crown, and go up stairs. The music wasn’t too loud, it was standard bar/food atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Pasta was pretty standard and serving size was large.
Booked through Dimmi, a 50% food offer. Dimmi rang me seven hours before my booking and advised me Midnight Spaghetti did not want to honor this deal. Midnight Spaghetti then sent me an email cancelling my booking. I presume this means that the restaurant is closing down.
Had the zucchini noodles with bolognese sauce which was huge and delicious, and only $15 on a Wednesday night. Excellent vibes, friendly staff, but the wine we were recommended was v strange. Pretty young crowd, and kick onsdownstairs are definitely agood idea. Will be back!
Ordered carbonara and meatballs. Both were extremely bland and tasteless. I was looking forward to taking them home to make them taste better but was informed they don’t give out takeaway containers. I felt so crappy about all that food going to waste. I make carbonara at home with 3 ingredients and it tastes a hundred times better, not sure how they are messing this up? The side of potatoes were nice and the staff were friendly. Food came out quickly but I think this may be because it’s not very fresh. I really wanted to like this place (authentic carbonara is my life) but was so disappointed.
Midnight Spaghetti has a lot of potential. The upstairs bar and dining area is great for a cheekie pre dinner drink! The staff are pretty friendly, and knowledgeable. The menu is solid, a good number of options, still not too overwhelming or pretentious. However, the food is getting there. My Spaghetti with meatballs were ok, could have certainly done with more flavour. Similarly for Cockles and Carbonara dishes – my friends comments were not the most positive (and a lot of Italian food had been had before). So, they are getting there, it has a lot of potential and Ill probably give it another go.
Party of 4 went to this place on the strength of a review in the local paper. Someone mentioned it was a loud place, expecting noise from patrons chattering etc. But it was the music,, so LOUD, we could not hear each other across the table, you think i joke, it was bad. We ordered, spag bolognese, very good, the meatballs next, very good, 2 cockles, average, very salty and expect a LOT of garlic. I asked for a doggy bag, forbidden, not allowed. Corkage BYO is $20:00. We would have liked to stay for the desserts, but driven out the door by the loud music. We are of the more mature age group 50-60, but methinks this place would be popular with the younger crowd. Prices for meals were good value. We ordered the spuds to begin with but not forthcoming, maybe they didnt hear us. When we go out we like good food, good wine, good friends and good conversation.. Music spoiled it..
COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS AND VERY LOUD MUSIC – ARE THEY RELATED?We rocked up at 11pm & were advised that only the titular item on the menu was available. Why then did other tables get a variety of meals delivered when they arrived after us?My sis asked for her pasta with no anchovies but this didn’t happen, so the meal was halfheartedly taken back. Before it was returned, she also requested no cheese. Her new meal was brought to the table with cheese on top and as my husband & I were already half way through eating our meals, she reluctantly accepted it this way.I also observed twice the waitress taking meals to the wrong table: ours were originally offered to the table next to us.To be fair, we weren’t charged for a beer to make up for the anchovy error but I still felt disappointed.Having said all that, the spaghetti was hot & tasty.
