Food here was not too bad. The kangaroo was the highlight. Our least favourite was probably the kimchi and tofu dumplings and we felt that they were quite expensive ($18 for 5). Although the other food was quite okay, we felt it was overall expensive for what it was and the amount you got.
We found Mimasu on Google and it looked very nice so we decided to try it out. Food was decent, oyster and kingfish dish were so so not that fresh. Mushroom, asparagus were good. BBQ octopus was quite sweet but I liked it. Service was lovely. Everything seemed good until I had my kimchi and pork Gyoza. My husband and sister had theirs and the gyoza was fine. However, I had a bite on mine and the meat was red. Meat was still raw. We asked the waiter and she came back with a response from the chef that the meat was red because of the discolouration with the kimchi. If thats the case, why other gyoza was well cooked and the meat was white. We paid our bill and spoke to the chef. Our initial intention was just to let them know about the gyoza for future reference but the answer still the discolouration because of the kimchi. It happens sometimes when the meat not cooked properly, especially if its chicken and pork its very dangerous. Nice deco, nice atmosphere and service, just not the chef.
I really enjoyed the place. The karaage chicken is tasty and very filling. Great value.I loved the beef and kangaroo carpaccios and the belly tuna is delicious and too good to share. Will definitely be going back to try the rest of the menu. Every single dish.
This place looks extremely attractive from the outside … When you go in the menu also looks promising. Unfortunately that’s where it stops. Visited this joint about 4 months ago on a Friday night and the restaurant was half empty at 730pm. We wanted to order 6 small dishes to share and was told that 3/6 dishes we wanted were sold out.. sold out at 730 on a Friday night. We then tried to order other dishes and were told they were sold out as well. The waiter then told us that they only has 7 items left on the menu .. I don’t think I’ll be coming back here again unless they are willing to cater for more patrons … I understand if this was the case on a weekday at 830/9pm but not a Friday night at 730!
Solid 4/5 here. Attentive staff, modern restaurant, tasty food, which came out quite timely. Menu is a bit on the short side, but some very good choices all the same.
Have been here a few times now with different groups of people and each time the experience has been exceptional. You will want to order everything off of the menu. The food is so good and the service is perfect. This will be a regular.
Been here twice. First time was promising but 2nd time was a let down. At 630pm, they had already run out of their angus steak even though the restaurant was more than half empty
