Tonight I had the best pub burger in Adelaide. The meat was plentiful and not over cooked. The cheese was tasty and the bun was soft. The schnitzel also has a lovely crunchy coating. The pepper sauce was rich in colour and had a great pepper taste. The fries were average maccas style. The mayo was tasteless. The slaw was left uneaten as the mayo has no tang. Food came out really fast. We will come back to try the lamb, which they did not bother slow cooking tonight, as there is no way it sold out at 7pm on a sat night with only two other adults dining in the restaurant.

My boyfriend and I ordered chicken parmis and they were below average. The chicken was overcooked and the salad was inedible – it had a very weird aftertaste. Ordered a cider as well and it was given for free as it was the last keg and it only filled half of the glass. Though I appreciate for it being given for free, the cider taste was sooo bad – must be because it was from the very bottom of the keg. Didn’t drink it at all after one sip. There were no customers when we came in but the service did not really make up for the below average meals. A bit overpriced and the bartender did not really seem to care about the customers and it was the middle of the day. We had a voucher with us and when he checked us out we believed to have been overcharged despite the discount. Did not really ask him anymore as he did not really seem or look like he was ready to assist. Definitely not recommending to anyone and definitely not coming back.

Stopped by for lunch and got the burger and pint deal for $19. My friend ordered one panko crumbed chicken burger with wasabi mayo and nori seaweed. I ordered a Mexican bean burger with guacamole and sour cream. The fries were crisp and well flavored. The Mexican burger was a vegetarian burger which I didn’t notice from reading the menu. Still quite nice and tasty, with a crispy exterior. The condiments were well flavored too. The chicken burger on the other hand seemed a little on the dry side and could have done with a little more mayo and nori. The other problem is the buns although high quality were burnt slightly on the inside. Not enough to be inedible but enough to affect the taste. My friend had to leave early and we didn’t have time to send the dishes back. Reasonably tasty, but didn’t wow me either. The slightly burnt bun was disappointing.Wait staff were nice enough.

First time, work function of 26 people, food was served cold, tasteless, not even average, very disapointing! If the pub food is what they are good at then they should stick to cooking pub food. Waste of money that was.Not in person was happy with food. The pub is old and charming, shame about the food.

Went to try the Rob Roy out after reading about their latest chicken burger effort. Crispy Panko crumbed chicken, wasabi mayo and seaweed. Wow. Crispy chicken goodness.Good service too. We put our drinks and food through without seeing the burger/drink deal but it was rung up as the deal to save us a few dollars which was nice. Some super hot sauce was offered for my chips too. Hot and tasty.Worth a trip just to give that burger a go.
