Underwhelming experience. I’m not sure of the restaurant experience, of some of the reviewers below, but I won’t be going back. Service was so so, the food was edible at best & the wine is way overpriced. Though having said that, we did find a couple of reasonably priced wines.
10/10It was our first visit to Stem last night since it’s opening and I couldn’t fault a single thing. I’m visiting from Melbourne and Stem is totally my kind of restaurant/wine bar and is completely on-point! I absolutely love the industrial chic fit-out, softened with the use of natural materials, plants and possibly my favorite, the wine cellar! The ambiance is warm and inviting, not stuffy or pretentious and is complimented with a tantalizing menu, full of so many delicious seasonal choices perfect for sharing (or not).The staff are all absolutely fabulous! We received a warm, friendly welcome and excellent service throughout the evening. I found the service to be attentive but not intrusive. Our fabulous host offered us some great recommendations from the menu and the sommelier Lachlan’s wine knowledge is brilliant. I didn’t expect to find a hidden gem like this in Adelaide and certainly not on Hindley Street, yet the venue and its location is perfect. I’m not easily impressed, however I was very impressed with Stem. Thank you for a great night, see you again very soon.
