Fantastic place for takeaway and a quick bite to eat. It’s great food served by friendly staff and very quick. I would recommend the cho che prawn / chicken.
Had lunch here recently. very friendly staff. Tried the Meeang-Kom – kind of like prawn san choy bau – not hugely impressive. Ordered off the lunch menu – beef massaman curry and pad thai noodles – both excellent – very tasty and good sized portions. rice came with the curry and didn’t have to be ordered separately which was a bonus.
As the management has recently changed we thought it was time to revisit and we are very happy that we did. A friendly greeting was provided by our waiter Kym and our drink orders taken and served, very cold Singa beer and a fresh coconut juice to enjoy whilst we looked at the menu and daily specials. For entree we ordered Thai Dumplings with Red Curry Sauce and they were both visually fantastic and tasted fantastic, a great start. For main course we ordered Crispy Duck with Tamarind Sauce and Prawn Pad Thai, again both were great choices washed down with a couple glasses of Skillogalee Riesling that was a bargain @$8-50 a glass.Overall we had a great meal with excellent service that didn’t cost much, what more could you ask for.
I have worked on Hindmarsh Square for years and been coming to TIW for 9 years. Always welcomed by Tony, always great service, always great food. I or my clients have had probably every dish on the menu and no one had been less than happy as! I love the pepper beef, the red curry and the pad Thai.
EDIT 9/12/16: Thai in a Wok is now under new management. Tony and his wife (head chef) have retired from the food industry to pursue other endeavours. Whilst this is disappointing, the new (Chinese) owners are doing their very best. Wanna the lovely Thai waitress is still there along with another Thai cook so most dishes we’ve had since the change have been similar or the same as before. The spring rolls, however, are in need of work! I just thought I would update everybody about this.ORIGINAL REVIEW: I am a regular to Thai in a Wok – I come here nearly every Tuesday for lunch with work friends, and we absolutely love it. We get service with a smile from the owner Tony and the lovely waitress Wanna who knows our orders down to a T! (Helps that we all order the same things over and over again). The chicken laksa is really lovely and warming and my favourite dish by far. Another favourite of mine includes the beef stir-fry with oyster sauce and veggies. One friend enjoys the green chicken curry. In fact almost all the dishes I have had here I’ve enjoyed, but it’s the laksa I always go back to! I definitely recommend this place. Be sure to book – they can get very busy!
Superb food. Adelaide’s best kept secret!. Absolutely superb food. I was staying at the Ibis Adelaide and it’s just a small stroll for fabulous food. Highly recommended.
Wonderful. I had a wonderful meal at Thai in a Wok. We had two beautiful dishes and were sat (without reservations) in a nice secluded spot for a lovely dinner. Our meals were fully vegetarian and delicious – I believe that making great vegetable only dishes is very telling of how good the food is (Its Fab). I loved every aspect – Thank you Thai in a Wok!
