Great location, good vibe, friendly baristas. The coffee is mediocre unfortunately. My partner ordered a cuppucino, that was a bit burned. I ordered a Chai Latte and I couldn’t comprehend the thick layer of spices floating on the top (Chai Latte supposed to be made from exotic spices I get it) but those bits on top are impossible to be ingested, let alone together with very strong flavour liquid underneath. I studied Hospitality in Europe and made coffee for lots of guests. This, I haven’t tasted before.
Kaye. After reading previous reviews we were anticipating a very nice hot coffee and breakfast. Our coffees were lukewarm at the best, even after asking for hot ones. We had very nice eggs and tomatoes, but the bacon was in my case, inedible. It was well overcooked as was my partner’s. He managed to eat his though. The staff were friendly.
A cute cafe with a large seating area. That said they provide NO WATER when eating in but will happily charge you for bottled water.
Central Market Gem.. We found this little place on our first morning in Adelaide. The coffee was gorgeous. Strong and aromatic. The food just delicious. So good we came back several times to try other dishes. Adult and decadent.
Bad customer service. I will never eat at this cafe again! Upon ordering a savory muffin to take away I asked for it to be warmed up, with that I received a rude response from the chef who basically said no and stated it was 30 degrees outside indicating it didn’t need warming. isnt it our choice as the consumer as to whether we like our food cold or hot !? Nevertheless I walked away with a cold (obviously not freshly baked), tasteless, overpriced muffin!also, there appears to be a high turn over of staff as there’s always new faces working there.
I used to love this place for breakfast – the food was really tasty, if a little pricey. Lately the quality of the meals has declined, I had the mushrooms on toast the other day and the mushrooms were overcooked, dry and horrible. Something has changed, maybe change in chef/management? I don’t think I’ll be going back, will start going to Zumas instead I think!
Bad, bad service!!!!. I have been going to Zed’s for several years now and recently took a interstate friend there. They got my friends order mixed up but instead of apologising, the owner proceeded to argue with my friend and then threatened to have us thrown out by Cental Market security (you can imagine how intimidating we were especially since I had my 12 month old daughter with us). We will never eat at Zed’s again!!!
