Great staff. Good food. I am on my third visit to the Oakbank. The food has got better every time and the staff are friendly courteous and attentive. Rapidly becoming my favourite Hills pub.
Woodsiders prefer Woodside. One of our few forays to the Oakbank Steak House – I ordered Beef schnitzel with pepper sauce, salad and chips – unfortunately the chips came ready salted – chicken salt probably ? the breadcrumbs fell off the snitty which looked very unappeatising and the salad contained one small piece of tomato and lots of lettuce. I also ordered a house cab sab (Angoves) which I could not drink and the very helpful waitress brought me a cab/sav Wicks which was much more palatable. I knew I was going to be disappointed, as we usually go to the Woodside Hotel where the same meal is nearly half the price and presented much more appealingly although there is no view out of the window ! Although the waitress was very helpful, I was, nonetheless, let down and will not be going to Oakbank Steak House/Hotel again despite its reputation as the best steaks in the Adelaide Hills (grain fed).
Good steaks. Been there, steaks cooked properly the way you order it. friendly service but busy and hard to get a table. price is reeasonable for a steak.
Banana Split. The only hotel I’ve ever been in that doesn’t know how to present a banana split! What a dive!
Food is fine, the rest not so much. The food at the Oakbank Hotel is good, if perhaps a little over-priced. However, the irrational political ranting about taxes on the menu, slogans around the walls, the manager being rude to staff in front of customers and then lecturing other people’s children about not talking enough to their parents was a lot less good.
Great steak!. Nice friendly atmosphere, the steaks were both delicious and very tender, and the chips are amazing. Highly recommended.
