where do i go when i need to have a decent coffee in a relaxed environment? hillbillys! so many great memories at this place. service is exceptional!!
Gross & Grubby. Had a very disappointing breakfast for four. We had the expensive & very ordinary big breakfast as well as the poor value for money greasy & gross Turkish rolls. The cafe itself was grubby & gross not hip & trendy as I think the owners think it is!! The owner was wondering around on his mobile looking very disinterested & as for the cook, using just ONE glove and using her bare hand to handle the food with the other was also extremely disappointed. I never thought I would say it but Montagna cafe is better than this place & we certainly won’t be back at Hillbillies cafe EVER.
Best in Blackwood. Hillbilly’s Cafe is centrally located in Blackwood, high up in the delightful Adelaide hills. As the name suggests, rustic colourful and comfortable – with multi coloured distressed timber furniture and a comfy leather lounge suite inside, while outside an alfresco area overlooks the Main Street. A ceiling draped with old sacks is a delightful novel effect, with light shades made from old tin cans hanging between. Antique bottles, farm tools and some local paintings for sale complete the decor. We enjoyed a breakfast and a lunch from their well chosen menu, both dishes were very well prepared and presented, from locally sourced food. The service was excellent, understandably a very popular cafe for the locals and visitors, well worth a stop for excellent coffee, with well priced and delicious food.
I can’t believe I’ve never noticed this little place before! It is fantastic! The food was delicious, their fresh juices are to die for and prices were excellent! I’ll be back!
Went to this cafe last weekend and I am going back for more this weekend! Looking forward to trying the kale juices and another delicious option from the breakfast menu. By far my number one preference for breakfast in Blackwood!!
Best in Blackwood. Hillbilly’s has to be the best lunch & breakfast place in Blackwood.Their Bacon & Egg sandwich is amazing! Their soups are amazing! Their turkish bread sandwiches are amazing!
So lovely. I visited an amazing cafe today, there were a few others dining in so I joined another couple at a large wooden table. The decor was so rustic and inviting. I had a veggie stack. I am a vegetarian and they gave me a lot of nice options to choice from. This was certainly the right choice I will be coming back. I read the above review and I disagree with the comment on the coffee my latte was perfect. The staff were friendly and the owners even came out and had a chat. I will be visiting again and can highly recommend Hillbilly’s cafe.27 May, 2013Best hot dogs in town.
