Very disappointing. Chose the vegetable char grilled salad. I did expect the vegetables to be warm ( not sure who would choose to eat cold egg plant etc) but they were in fact ice cold from the fridge and very sloppy. I have had char grilled veggies before and they should have a bit of bite. If that wasn’t bad enough, the whole salad was swamped in oil, so much so that I just couldn’t eat it. When I spoke to the waitress she said , ‘yes it is a bit deceiving, but it’s served cold’ and that she would inform the chef ( who was also the owner). She also said she hoped I had still enjoyed the evening! I understand that things do go wrong from time to time, but it’s how you manage the issue that is important and decides if your customers return. I will definitely not be returning.

Devastation is the word. For some reason, I mucked up my Sunday booking today and I was distraught!Montagna has been a much looked forward to part of my weekend (and occasionally midweek) for some years. I’ve never been disappointed. The food is always excellent: well prepared and presented, and occasionally (as for the Barramundi special a few weeks ago) exceptional. The service is always efficient and friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I continually underestimate Montagna. I come here time and again for coffee and sometimes for lunch. This place serves good quality for what it is. Had the classic bruschetta for lunch yesterday & was surprised by the well seasoned delight put in front of me. Lovely sticky balsamic made the dish. Montagna serves big meals for what you pay, as far as cafes go, pretty good.

ARROGANCE and MEDIOCRACY. DON’T GO THERE! Went there last night with friends, 4 people in all. They have 2 for one pizza on Tuesday night so we thought we would take advantage of this offer. We placed our order for two pizzas, one garlis prawn and one super vegetarian, two garlic bread serves, two glasses of wine, 1 soda water, and one coke. After 50 minutes we had not any clue when the pizzas would turn up so we asked if it would be long before we got them and were told they were busy with take-aways, it was clearly not their fault We sat without any indication of when we would be served The vegitarian one came, then one we didnt order and sent back, and the garlic prawn pizza eventually arrived. We didnt consider coffee and cake an option after the diabolical mix-up so paid the bill…$54.65. Only after did we realise we did NOT get our two for one pizza but paid for two! How easy would it have been for them to come and say they were over worked in the kitchen and perhaps offer to take the garlic bread off the bill, or simply not take such a superior attitude….we wil never go back

ANZAC Day. Dropped in for coffee greeted by churlishness from kitchen staff, there is a reason there’s a distinction between front of house & back of house, short order cooks should really remain in kitchen, away from the paying public. Put my money back in wallet and left. Thought I’d record my displeasure in public this time, rather a private note.

Sunday Breakfast. Came here at 11am on Sunday – was reasonably busy with people everywhere with only one people taking orders. We waited about twenty mins to order. When the meals finally came out there was a 10-15mins gap between the first and last (of four) people to be served their meals, plus the food came out before the coffees which is odd. A couple of the meals ordered included, Egg & bacon focaccia and Bacon & eggs – eggs and bread were all ok but the bacon was like thick tough leather – was inedible.
