Fairly stock standard Chinese. Dim sims and spring rolls were good as was Mongolian beef and duck in plum sauce. Lemon chicken and sweet and sour pork average with too mud batter. Value was ok. Service was just ok meal came quick to start then had 30mins+ wait for mains after asking waiter a few times, pretty sure they forgot our orders.
Would be happy to go back……. Continuing with my cooking free weekend, we used a Groupon Voucher for a 2 course dinner with a glass of house wine at the Yangtze Restaurant. The restaurant was about 40% full, on a Sunday night. We could choose any entre so went for the Satay King Prawns – hot and very tasty. Ate every last bit of the sauce! For the mains, there were a few exclusions as you would expect (no scallops, duck or fillet steak) but we chose Honey King Prawns and Beef with Cashew Nuts and were very happy with both of them.It was to be served with steamed rice but we decided to pay the extra $4 and get the fried rice. Everything was piping hot and full of flavour. We ordered an extra bottle of wine – at $20, the price was average.Service was pretty quick and friendly. All in all, a good experience and no complaints!Would be very happy to return – 8.5out of 10. A winner!
Its ok. The food is typical westernised chinese food, meals we had were on average $18 each, so not cheap but no dear either. we ended up paying an average price for average food… which is fine.we will go back and have another meal
Disappointed. Food is expensive, quality poor but have you seen some of the reviews on the other websites? 5/5 from all six reviews- these people must be paid or or they are all put up by the same writer?! The point is, don’t trust these web reviews too much, word of mouth is best…I have tried their food and must say these people have no idea.
Blah. Had takeaway tonight. Has always been on the expensive side but the food was good. Has it changed hands? The food was terrible! The satay chicken had that raw curry taste. The roast duck in plum sauce was so chewy it was inedible and it cost $23! There was hardly any duck and it sat in a bed of lettuce so it looked like considerably more. Woeful. The fillet steak in black bean sauce was NOT fillet but just an inferior cut that had been marinaded to tenderness. Six dim sims, four main courses, one veggie and two rice cost $115! Insulting. This will be my last visit. Save your money and go somewhere else.
NOT gluten free friendly and average food.If you’re thinking about Yangtze for gluten free Chinese, forget it. The only gluten free options are 3 BBQ pork dishes and steamed vegetables. Yangtze doesn’t even offer gluten free soy sauce! My wife’s BBQ pork was dry and not very tasty. My Mongolian beef was, at best, average.Still looking for gluten free Chinese Adelaide…
Disappointing. Recently back visiting family in Adelaide and we all used to love coming here and we were all really looking forward to family dinner out. We went on a Friday night, was busy but not more than half full, take away seemed very busy. We were totally let down by the service and price. i would go as far as to say the female waitress was sour, didn’t smile once and almost rude. we constantly had to follow up on drinks and food. It was rather slow. We had the banquet. There were six of us, Food was 6/10. Banquet was not value for money and we were left thinking if there were only four of us banqueting we would have received the same amount of food. A more value for money option would have been to order separate dishes and share them. Sadly I don’t think any of us will return, a shame as the food and service used to be fantastic.
