A trip from adelaide to clare to burra, well worth it! A perfect mix of traditional italia and the country life of the mid north. Wonderful service, we came here with a group of ~10. Antipasti, beautiful. The cold meats were fresh and not a piece was left. Complemented with vegetables and bread, a perfect starter. Pasta (creamy and broccoli) both al dente and tasty. The pizza – wow. We got a margherita and the ‘jackson’ which I believe included pork and saltbush lamb (saltbush lamb sausages are a big hit in the wine region and for good reason). Claymore wines to top it off, with gelati, a fire, music and a game of pool. So full and so happy. Molto bene! Bring your friends, family and appetite. Honestly didnt take any photos of the food, was far too excited to eat.

Sensational authentic rustic Italian food. All fresh ingredients. Very tasty. Mushrooms taste like mushrooms should. Brcolli tastes earthy its so fresh. Pizzas and daily choice of two pastas. Mussels were a special when we visited. Salads to start. I had the Buffalo mozz with toms and basil. Nice gelati range to finish. Get your own drinks, wines and beers, and let them know what you had at the end of your dinner. A huge vinyl selection that customers can play. Pool table too.Relaxed atmosphere. Cannot recommend this higher. Except if you’re expecting a traditional restaurant experience or if you take your poshness seriously, don’t bother. Best in SA, I’d say.

Came here on the recommendation of friends (and with those same friends). Super casual and very much with that classic Family osteria feel. We had a couple of pizzas (thin base not the bready style so common these days) and a selection of fresh on the day – whatever they were cooking dishes. Amazing roast pork and salad, even more amazing broccoli and pasta dish. Rather good deserts too although we were too full to really indulge – Great selection of wines too – just help yourself and enjoy but expert advice is available too. Good selection of old vinyl to select from and be your own DJ for the night (or with other diners).Absolutely worth the drive from Adelaide but overnighting at Paxton Square cottages aint a bad idea either (easy walk). Plan on an early tea – or heck get there at lunch and stay for dinner too!
